With a fun nite fast approaching and so many fun events available. A costume thread would be fun. Basically here is how it works. Pick a fictional person that you associate with. And if you wish share why. I will happily start it.
I actually have two. Alice in Wonderland. ( Way to much daily life there. ) So lets go then with Belle. She is lost in her world of books and learning. And to me wanders about blindly but still finds her way. She is slowly growing up but is in no hurry.
*** warning ***
I did this and it has cost me dearly...
My wife had suspicions that I would like to be either a cross dresser or transgender. I went to a Halloween parties in female mode. The next day I came out to her (I couldn't take it any more) and we went to another party which I re-wore the same costume.
That is one of the things she the kept "throwing back on me" as I started to transition. (In very negative terms)
So if your spouse is not okay with your choice of costume, don't do it!!!
*** End warning ***
There are two I might choose:
Evie
Evil Alex
I'll throw in Emma but she's never dressed in a sexy out fit.
If you go to http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/CategoryWitches
You'll get a list of all of them.
I would look for a whispy flowy black dress with a pointy hat, black fishnet stockings with 4 or 5 inch heals. No broomstick unless I thought I would need it to fight of the boys. ;).

Probably Mulan. The Disney master of crossdressing. She enrolled in the army, fought against the Huns and, while saving the emperor, defeated them with a group of ->-bleeped-<- concubines.
I'm being village Belle this Halloween :)
I'm going to be a scary clown because my nieces deserve nightmares. >:-)
I would be Vanellope von Schweetz aka Glitch from wreck it Ralph. I know not an official princess but she by far has the most fun. I want that in my life.

I want to be princess Leia in her slave outfit. I loved that outfit.
I won't do that, as I would cause innocent eyes to go blind.
How about Aladdin? He has a genie who could turn me into Cinderella!
Smiles, Jess 💁
Well the last few months I have been called a princess, not sure if it is good or bad but I would be closest to Cinderella
Definitely Belle. She's so unlike other Disney princesses. She's kind, intelligent, loves books, loves her father, and full of compassion. She's the type of princess that girls of all ages should want to look up to, not the flaky ditzes like Ariel (Little Mermaid) or Rapunzel (Tangled) or Anna (Frozen).

It's so dumb she's not considered a Disney princess!
For me... hrrrm... This is a really tough call. I'd be tempted to say Ariel, but I wouldn't want to step on my sister's toes on that one (she has been mermaid obsessed her entire life). :D
I like Jasmine's outfit the best(who wouldn't!), and Mulan is my personal favorite Disney movie, but I'd feel like I was being culturally insensitive and that would suck the fun out of it. ;D (Also the whole Jasmine being intended to be 14 thing has started to creep me out a bit the last few years.)
Not crazy about her outfit, but sticking with the princesses (and not diverging into Star Wars or Marvel) I'd have to go with Belle overall.

That top part would really suck. IMO its the month of October and its fun to dress up and play. My wife in seeing this thread said.. OMG all thouse years .. so much explanation..
I like pointy hats too. But, save them for gatherings.

Thank you for the laughter your description of Mulan caused. I never thought about it that way.
From a pure looks perspective absolutely Ariel, the hair is amazing. For personality I imagine I'm more like tangled.

The travesty is that Wreck It Ralph wasn't even Pixar, it was the main Disney studio. But yet Merida gets to be a princess! Vanellope is Disney through and through! :D
Moana. My children have made me watch it a thousand times (and I might have watched a couple of times without them too [emoji16]).

Among the actual Disney princesses, it would have to be Snow White. (I'm a bit surprised that it isn't Ariel, although she would be my second choice, as I wanted to be a mermaid when I was a child. Perhaps it is because Ariel didn't want to be a mermaid.) Snow White is so feminine and takes so quickly to being the lady of the house (love the Bavarian decor, too). And who wouldn't want to fall asleep and be awakened by a kiss from a handsome prince?
If Alice were a princess, she would probably at least tie with Snow White, as I regard Disney's Alice in Wonderland as a tutorial in femininity - yessss, your majesty!

Just remember the pointy end goes away from the body and when shooting the bow don't go locked arm things will get in the way and that might sting a little.

It's just that I don't think being a 267 pound woman walking around in a metal bikini would be good for anyone's eyes. Especially when you add the stringy hair that I haven't been able to get off my belly yet. Maybe in a couple years. Still a touch more work to do, but the hair is getting less noticeable.

I agree, if you own it, people will love you. One of my favorite women I met at comiccon was a big girl. She hand knit a Wonder Woman outfit, and she rocked it, full confidence and taking picts all the time. I loved talking with her and envied her energy!

Yeah...owning it, is not something that I can do well. I don't think I am ready for that much skin exposure. Despite the continuing acceptance of the ladies around me, I still have a bit of worry when I go out as me.

One word. Body suit. I use those with some of my outfits sorta smooths things out. One thing I have learned is girls cloths are freaking cold. Brrrr... Combine that with a fresh shave and it better be 80 deg out...
While we're encouraging Disney for better representation in their characters, can we get them to design a prince with a full beard? I am not shaving down! :D
If I had to though, I guess I'd go with Tangled's Flynn Rider... although he'd probably take offense to me botching his nose!

I am yet to have a magic pumpkin coach or to marry a Prince, but I relate to Cinderella because of how I was treated as a child
Ooh, Leia, but definitely in her classic outfit, not the bikini. So flowy and retro and beautiful. Maybe Esmeralda (not a princess, ok ok) as far as hair type and skin tone, but that outfit is, uh... not one I could ever dream of pulling off. Well, not that I could even almost really do Leia's outfit justice either, but you know.

Leia is actually a fine choice. Very easy for any one to do .. ( grabs to cinnabuns.. done ) *happy snickering. Very Old staterday night live joke there.
Everyone keeps telling me Kylo's the 'Disney Princess' I should be going as. I do have the mask somewhere.
I read up on historical linguistics as a hobby and wear nerdy glasses, so I guess I'm Milo Thatch from Atlantis.
I am surprised that so far no one has chosen Elsa from "Frozen." So that would be mine, except that I have already put together a schoolgirl outfit that I will be wearing to group this week for our Halloween party.

I always go as the half-crazy semi-effeminate Pirate Jack Sparrow . . .
Love this shirt have a new hat this year!!!
( medievalcollectibles.com/p-3809-patrickson-pirate-shirt.aspx )
Malificent. I love her outfit. Lol
As for Disney princesses, I would probably go as Belle myself. But this year, being the very first year of my life that I'm actually able to dress up how I want to because of past religion issues and things which are now not an issue, and I am very much out to my wife and many people around where I live, I am going as Hermione Grainger from Harry Potter. Hermione was always my favorite!
When I was a kid, my church had a "no cross-dressing" policy for some twisted reason. So sadly, the one time of the year that I could have actually gone out dressed as a girl and have it be perfectly fine and acceptable.........I still couldn't. So now that I am almost 37 years old, when I realized the other day that I am now free to dress however I want, I got all excited and immediately knew who I wanted to dress up as:-) So this should be fun ;D
Quote from: LaRell on October 23, 2017, 11:03:50 AMI am going as Hermione Grainger from Harry Potter. Hermione was always my favorite!
Somehow always knew, from episode one, that Harry would wind up with
Ginevra Molly "Ginny" Weasley (my fav) the mother of James, Albus and Lily (my 1yr grandbaby's name )
LOL My kid's school wouldn't allow anything Harry Potter due "witchcraft: concerns either!!
( ps: just ordered above shirt was just $5 more for UPS 2day air!! When is Halloween?? )
You could call her the princess of Disney princesses... although strictly she isn't one... the real Disney Queen, Mini Mouse.
Rowan
I've been considering on and off for ages for going as a generic Prince Charming.
Any of of the original three prince charmings (Snow White,Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty) would work, they're all basically the same character, but I especially like Cinderella's as I look a lot like him and his outfit is immediately recognizable.
He also seems like a scatterbrain (forgot what his True Love⢠looked like) and everyone would totally dig it because I'm a scatterbrain too.
However, I'm on a budget, so I'll just wear a third eye to the party. Kinda sad, but my prosthetics are nothing to spit at so I guess I guess I have no right to complain.
I'll be another Princess Leia in her slave girl outfit please ;D

A few years ago my little sister was on a bus for a school trip and they had phantom menace playing. She had never seen either Star Trek or Star Wars, and texted me a picture that happened to capture R2-D2 and sent it to me to show off that she was finally seeing one of them (which of course, it had to be episode 1...). I replied "R2D2!" And she just sent back a simple "uh, yes". Later I found out she had no idea what I was talking about, and her and the girl she were sitting with were trying to decipher what R2D2 meant, thinking I was using a texting shorthand they never heard of. I explained to her that she sent me one a picture of R2D2, one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars. She then said "Wait, I thought I was watching Star Trek." ... So yeah. ;D (Though now, years later, she is in love with Harrison Ford and actually saw ST Beyond before I did. :D)
