Title: A Happy Place
Post by: bobbisue on November 03, 2017, 06:16:49 AM
As I was laying awake letting my mind wander I got to a place where I really needed to find a happy story so I came here to the forums and I did find some great stories but it took some searching and I thought why not a thread of peoples happy stories

Here's mine up until about 2 months ago I was only out to my wife and 2 oldest daughters  Then one day I was  having coffee with one of my oldest friends who asked me if I was going hippie as I have grown out my hair gotten my ears pierced and lost a lot of weight after a short hesitation I  told him the truth after a few rounds of you s##ting me he was totally cool with it this gave me the courage to come out to the rest of my friends and my kids everyone has been so great it is a huge weight off my shoulders I couldn't
be happier

I've already posted my story here: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,229824.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,229824.0.html), among other places, but I'll reiterate my coming out to my dad, who I was really worried about.  He's 70, and while not conservative, he's kind of from another time.

He ended up being awesome.  We talked for maybe 45 minutes about what the future was going to hold for me, and when he got up to go, he kissed me on the head and said, "I kiss boys too."  (He does.)  It was really sweet.

Gonna be honest, I really hope I never hear my dad say that. ;D

I have a thread about my own coming out to my dad which I'll toss the link in here later, but also was a happy story.
