I have struggled most of my life knowingly that I have not been true to myself out of fear that nobody will accept me for who I am . But things finally happened in my life and I decoded to take my life back and become the woman I should have been born as . My name is Lori and I am 53 years old I have started seeing my Dr and startedd the process to take HRT back in April things are progressing very well and I am so pleased with most of the results so far . My journey is going to be a long one but I am excited it has finally started . Nice to meet you all and hope to become your friend and new sister

Thank you so much . I welcome any and all advice and tips , I know I am going to love it here
Welcome Lori. Girl Power indeed! I also know you're going to love it here.
Welcome. I am Dawn and I'm a late bloomer too. On HRT for over a year. Cleaning the slate and coming out to all who matter is so liberating. I live a much less stressful life. I am discovering new friends and experiences. The feeling you are the solitary person afflicted with dysphoria will dissipate quickly and free you to be who you were born to be... My ah ha moment came when I walked into the Gender Odyssey and there were 1700 other people just like me. If I can make one suggestion. Find a local support group. They can be so helpful. If you live in an area that does not have one, try the nearby university. My support group Ingersoll Gender Center has been in operation for forty years. Who knew?
Happy your're here.

Yes local support group is important because I can't call and talk whenever I get confused.

Greetings Lori, welcome, and hugs from an older transitioning girl. It's a great feeling and scary to finally take control. Susan's really helps with support in this journey we take.

Hi Lori,
Good name btw. I hope your journey is all you hope it to be. Welcome to Susan's Place.

Hey Lori,
I can't offer much advice as I'm new to this myself but I relate to always feeling you won't be accepted it's hard but iv learnt the people who really matter already love you for who you are and although you'll change on the outside and some of your ways will change along with the obvious your heart and soul were born that way and that's what the people who love you know! Only my father knew and he made me feel like I had an horrendous illness and told me people would never accept me but after he died I found the confidence to be myself and my family and friends were all amazing about it. I'm glad you found your true spirit to sister, all the best x
Welcome. I'm 53 too and am so happy for you and for me! :)
