Title: Anybody here in Toronto??
Post by: coconutballoon on November 07, 2017, 04:56:22 PM
Hello ppl,

I am a 21 yrs old and I have just started seeing a therapist a couple of months ago. I would love to talk to a support group or even another trans woman in Toronto who might be able to help me with some information about transitioning. In general I'm looking to make friends or talk to ppl i can relate to (just like everyone else here)  :)

Thanks  ;D

That's awesome! By any chance do you have any idea how to proceed here in Toronto? My therapist suggested sherbourne health but everything there is full for a year. And It'd be great to make friends before that.
Thanks! ;D

Yes there is Sherbourne health but I believe it is an 15 to 18 month wait. I myself told my doctor how I was feeling and than he did blood work than for me xray ultra sound c.t. scan because he was curious to see an intersex condition but than passed me to a doctor in London ontario which is Dr. Martin. You can look on the o.h.i.p. website and check out transgender information that may help you They have a list of medical place that will help. I hope this helps you let me know if you need more help

Thanks a lot, Natalie. I will let you know if I need more help. Also, what would be an average cost of hormones? Because I am still an international student here and I do not have access to free healthcare yet.

The cost of Hormones very I found Walmart the cheapest in Niagara where I live but you may want to call around My spiro is $30, Progesterone is $50 and Estrace is $80 dollars I have name brand pills as I have benifits now at my work so I pay $6 but you can get generic  pills for about $100 to $140 per month when I paid for mine. Tell your doctor you do not have benifits so they will not prescribe the expensive stuff
