Title: Informed consent and unprescribed Ritalin
Post by: Aaaaa29 on November 09, 2017, 05:17:51 PM
I just had my initial blood test for informed consent HRT. I have in the past couple days taken some Ritalin that I am not prescribed  (I know this is a bad idea I'm not going to do it again! ). I want to tell my Informed consent doc but I want to know first if they will deny me hormones if they know that I did this... if it doesn't affect my levels I guess I'd be fine not telling anyone but I want to be open with my doc... help please!

By "levels" I mean the stuff in the initial test, T levels, Prolactin, CMP, lipid panel, TSH

Hi there! I'd love a name to use rather than Aaaaa29!

Welcome to Susan's Place! That should not matter, but for the love of everything good, don't hold back information about medications from your doctor, That is dangerous, and foolish. As is self medicating, whether with hormones or drugs. Be smart, stay alive.  :)

Hugs, Devlyn

Hey, Aaaaa29 , I see that you are new here. So please let me say, Welcome To Susan's Place! Come on in and take a good look around.  Perhaps I can even get you to hop on over to the Introductions (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) Thread and  create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly.

Also I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.

Thanks, Laurie  ;).  For the OP, by all means tell your doctor.  He has to be your ally in this and if you discuss WHY you took the Ritalin, maybe he will even see something else that needs to be addressed and help you there.  You need to trust him and he needs to know he can trust you.  Toni
