Title: Masseter muscle reduction surgery
Post by: mistyjensen on November 11, 2017, 07:19:37 AM
Hi,

I'm looking for detailed information online as a starting point, especially scholarly journals and medical papers, about how to perform Masseter reduction surgery. The reason why I need this material is because my surgeon and I are interested in performing Masseter surgery on me. The goal is to reduce my enlarged Masseter muscle that gives me a square facial outline and conveys a lingering masculine appearance, despite my jaw reduction surgery and FFS. My surgeon, who I have the upmost confidence in, is interested in learning how to surgically perform Masseter reduction. He and I are not interested in going the Botox route because of the temporary benefits of that approach. Does anyone know or scholarly papers about how to surgically remove Masseter muscle?

I believe some FFS surgeons do this. I remember that I read somewhere Dr Spiegel does it and Dr Ousterhout also did this, so I assume Deschamps as his successor does it as well?

I'm pretty sure Dr Harrison Lee does it too.

Dr Rossi reduced my masseter muscle.  The same procedure is also done for people with chronic migraines.
