Gio here, so I recently went for my top surg consultation and im a smoker (cigs) and i was told also avoid second hand smoking. Due to my job its hard i work as maintenance in an apartment complex and i cant tell people what not to do in their own home. Its a bummer really.. is the surgeon stretching it? Or has anyone else had this policy prior to surgery?
This is a request I have seen on the show "Botched". They ask their patients all the time to not be drinking and smoking till a few weeks after surgery. Something about affecting blood flow for the smoking. Although I have not had a surgery yet where they request this of me.
