This might be a dumb question, I understand that there's probably different option depending on where you live. I was wondering if there is something I don't know about? Web- sites etc.
I'm a member of a local Facebook group: Fish-N.E.T.S.
They hold all sorts of get-togethers, dances, and Girls Night Out events. You can probably find a similar group near you.

I'm member of San Jose TransWomen Support Group which meet second and fourth Friday every month. After the meeting we going out for dinner as girls night out. So looks up your local transgender support groups.

Join meetup.com and they have many groups that you can join that are like minded. Also google groups in or around you are to see if you have any. I did that, I have group in my city and we have once a month meetings. So good luck and yes a good group is great!!!!!
Contact your local lgbt group and see if there are trans support groups in your area. I did that and learned we have two support group's and a social group. Anither option is Susan's. If somebody mentions something local in a thread you are reading PM them. I've met three ladies this way and it looks like we will all be good friends. I'm probably a bit more social than most, but only because I'm forcing myself to be. It is all part of my personal therapy, get out there. Still if I can do it, you can too.

I haven't been able to find anything with in 2 hours of me. My therapist even did a search nothing. I'm still trying though thank you for your thoughts. I'm trying sites like Fetlife. Not sure how that will work out.
Finding other transpeople is easy... I used Craigslist personals and met a few good people that way. But other options are good as well.
But meeting with them safely for the first time is a problem... How do you know you're not inviting a maniac with a gun? How the other person knows you aren't that maniac? One transgirl showed at my door with a gun in her pocket, btw... so it's not just a wild stipulation.
I suggest meeting in a public place, trans friendly, or just any public place where both of you are comfortable to be. Then, proceeding or not further.

That would be a great name for an all trans spy ring.
I would check for any Trans support groups that are recognised by your local authority or health centre. When I visited Liverpool recently I discovered one such group and they were fantastic and loads of good advice and tips from safety through to make up and fashion and they do meet for drinks or coffee mornings once or twice a week also xx
