Title: Mom Got it Right, Once...
Post by: amydane on November 17, 2017, 06:05:03 AM
When I was 7 going on 8 my friends were all signing up for basketball. When my Mom filled out the forms, she selected Female to the question Male or Female.

I only found out when my friends were told about tryouts, but I wasn't notified. Long story short, I almost got to play in the girls basketball league. I wonder if subconsciously my Mom knew I was really a girl.

Looking back at pictures it was all very obvious. You can see the look of excitement on my face when my Sister opened her present and it was a Barbie. Or there's the one of me holding a baby doll with love written all over my face.

I thought I hid being a transgender girl too well, but looking back I think either my family was blind or saw what they wanted to see. I most certainly gave off big signs "I'm a girl". Alas, no one read the signs, or maybe they did, but just ignored them.
