Has anyone here had top surgery before HRT? Or do you personally know someone who has? Any experiences?
I've understood that T helps the surgeon to place the nipples in right spots (but I've seen that mainly they just draw them on the skin beforehand, anyway). They also say that just working out might produce the same results?
Is there something to know about this, or something you'd warn against, or have you some tips/insight...?
Mainly: How did you feel after? Was the top surgery "enough" for you? How did you decide about going on hormones after that? Did having the top surgery done make you more certain you wanted to get on T? Was it relieving to have a flat chest - but that wasn't quite enough after all, or...? What made you decide?
I pass as a guy 50%. My chest gives me away. I'd like to get rid of that as soon as possible. But I'm still waiting for my appointment with the gender therapist.
I guess chest op might lower my dysphoria a bit. But my voice also gives me away. T takes care of that. I guess I'd want both in the end.
My understanding is some of our member have had top surgery before T however T and workouts will determine pec development and thus might result in a little difference in the procedure you receive. It would be best to discuss this with your surgeon because surgeons may have a different opinion on this.
