Let us all make this Christmas easier and share our present ideas. What did you get in the last few years for your family? And what are you planning to get this year?
just a nice day spent staying in and watching movies is all I will give or recieve this year. Last year was the same. Money is so tight it's all we can really afford.....but after a nice day with my wife and kids I actually don't feel like I missed out on much. We have everything we need, and we don't need more than that.
So another holiday in poverty goes down. We will watch twilight zone and play our homemade board game "Plastic Mayhem"
and we will get the best christmas present of all, a budget that's still in the black!
I should be receiving my new drivers license with my correct name and gender marker!

Looks very much like I'll be on my own. Not expecting much in the way of gifts, but don't have need for much either.
I read that Xmas can be a good opportunity to walk down empty streets in normally busy cities, so I might drive into London and check it out.

For my mom, I usually get her gift cards so she can go out to restaurants and pretend I'm taking her. We don't live in the same state. For my dad, it's steak or seafood by mail. He's a homebody. They are divorced, different states. For my sister I ask her what she wants for herself and if reasonable, I get it for her. I think they have had a harder time with me. This year I've mentioned to them I'm getting myself a music player, and immediately my dad called dibs. Sometimes I guess you just gotta be vocal about what you want. My sister has mentioned she's happy I came out because choosing gifts for me will be easier. She's giving me makeup kits. I told her nothing Disney themed, especially not Frozen themed.

I'll get my sister's kids some craft related stuff. She likes rocks and crystals so I'll get her some of those.
Got some friends of mine some stuff from Japan.
My SO says he doesn't want anything. Looks like there won't be much in the way of Christmas this year, I can see it's going to be downplayed and I'm too tired to argue and try to make it something. Brits can get this way - a lot seem to get worked up over the whole thing and then massively depressed afterwards because it didn't conform to the way it looks on the Coca Cola commercials. I just try to have a nice day. That's not been hard ever since I left my parents house 18 years ago. . .
You are all so modest, my family goes crazy during Christmas. this year we all agreed to buy a foosball table like the ones you can see here (http://www.foosballzone.com/foosball-table/) for our game room. Well, it is not actually a game room, it is a basement with one couch, TV and play station, but we want to upgrade it. that is a process which will last for years because we want to have a bar inside, an area with board games, table games, video games. it is a pretty big space so we have to fill it :D
