Title: HRT Shrinkage
Post by: Katie V on December 02, 2017, 09:44:49 AM
So, no, not that shrinkage  ;)...  I've read that some people experience a loss in height and I was wondering what others experiences with that were.  I know bones don't shrink but are there any other surprising body parts that have gotten smaller (such as feet) due to HRT?

It's one thing to read about this in a clinical publication but I'd like to hear directly from those going through it.  Thanks!

I haven't started HRT yet, but I hope this isn't a major thing.  I'm barely 5'2 as a guy, so I'm already short enough!!!

Wow! Any health issues involved? How long did that take? Quite impressive. Only way that would happen here is if I cut off my legs. :-/

Wow!  How does that happen?  I mean 8 inches is a lot to just disappear.  Did you have a doctor following up with that?

I have no idea.  I just started feeling slightly shorter next to my coworker who is a tall female as well at 5'11 and so I measured myself and I had shrunk.  I noticed my shoes being too big after about 10 months on hrt.  It was very gradual.

I am only 4 months 3 weeks on HRT, so still a little early for any significant changes like that to occur, but I have read multiple cases where Transwomen have gotten shorter and lost shoe sizes.  I don't really understand how this is possible, and I sure wish it would happen to me, because I am 6'1" and wear a size 12 mens shoe.  It is very dysphoria agravating to me to look down at my huge manly feet, and feeling like I am towering over all of the girls around me.  It sucks!  So I am greatly looking forward to any potential "shrinkage".  But definitely not expecting it.

I hope to lose an inch or two as well!  I'm 6'2".

To combat the feeling of towering over people, I usually prefer to sit down when talking to others in groups.

I gained 1/4 of an inch.

I have no idea how I managed to screw that up.

I was 6ft 1in when I started almost a year ago, and I'm still 6ft 1in. However my feet have gotten much narrower. I used to wear men's 12-4E shoe, now I wear a women's 13-B (standard width).

Given your user name can we assume you're not transitioning in the first place... ???

My feet have shrunk a tiny bit.  I'm still stuck at 11W, though.

AT 6'8" with size 16 feet There is nothing on earth that will ever make me even remotely pass, the 14 years on injectable EE and androcur have done nothing much except made me feel normal, so, no transition for me, I've had to accept that as my fate.  Growing 18" in a single year back around 1978 destroyed most cartilage in my body and made all my discs look like black paper on an MRI so I'll not be shrinking unless vertebrae actually start to crush.  Pretty likely that I'm XXY regardless

Upper body strength and mass reduced.
No height reduction, and alas...no foot size or hand reduction ;)
There is no magic. I once posted a joke on a TG support page, just a lil joke/comment about a mythical doctor in Miami who did miraculous feet reduction surgery, and WOW !!! a ton of responses. I told folks I was just joking. Some got mad. Oh well.... Bottom line says I . No magic,  ladies.
I take pride in my amazonian build, and am graced with height :) And my boo is a fool for tall blondes  hahahahahaha !!

How about shoulder width and arm muscle shrinkage?    Anyone with experience here.   I hate my shoulder width and arm size.

Yes, and yes.

Before starting HRT I was able to reduce some of my previous upper body bulk by changing exercise routine and thinking twice before carrying heavy things across a room (I finally acknowledged the invention of the wheel).  After HRT the difference became much more visible - and I've only been on HRT nine months.
