I came out to a facebook group with 1000 members. It's a swedish LGTBQ-group. But anyway. It's a huge step to admit to myself who I am. And stand up to myself. I even put my pic in the post.
Not sure if there are coworkers or friends on there who I don't have as friends on facebook.
It's like skydiving. Gets easier every time. Not as scary anymore. Still scary, but not terrifying. :D

Good for you Tony. I agree, it gets easier every time, especially after loved ones. I'm waiting about 4 more months before coming out at work. Just waiting till I can present. You can present already do that's awesome.

Good for you for coming out to the group! You are right, it does get easier every time. But I agree about the skydiving analogy. The first time for me was like jumping
without a parachute. (Luckily, I found one on the way down!) Now I actually enjoy coming out, but there's no one left to come out to!

KathyLauren,
You and I are cut from the same cloth. After number 5 or 10 and I had the routine down, I actually enjoyed I too.
Bari Jo,
Be carful with Facebook groups and such. Facebook is really Really good at matching people up. Your primary stream and suggested friends (yours and your friends) Will get interesting suggestions through you.
It happened to me with someone at work with whom I was a already out. I'm t he end no harm but it could have forced me out sooner than planned

Yes, me too! After a while you realize that anyone who cares for you the least little bit would rather see you happy than miserable.
The first few times I was so terrified. Crying and sweating. That gets some sympathy, but a much better way is to show the peacefulness and joy that has resulted from your transition. It's contagious, and when the person you're coming out to catches it, they associate those good feelings with your story. It almost always results in smiles and hugs all around. Then it's safe to have a little ocular leakage - but the good kind.
I'm convinced that each successful coming out, just like winning a game, gives you a little shot of dopamine, and it's addictive. I actually went looking for people to tell, until like Kathy, I ran out of everyone but strangers. And that's a dangerous game. You never know how someone with no investment in your relationship is going to react. That's when it's time to switch to a "need to know" model.

Thanks for the warning. I will be careful. I'm kind of afraid to come out on facebook or any childhood friend. I cut ties from back then for this reason, and people love to gossip. Facebook links to all these people.

I've found that my childhood friends, I mean real friends, are the best.

Tony congrats!!!! I am for myself an all in or not person! So as such I said when I was going to come out that I was just going to rip the band aid off and reveal myself to my friends from far and away. Many have never had contact with a trans person so them knowing me has opened their eyes to something they only heard of. I told my story on my post. My parents didn't even realize it went that deep. I never shared what I had felt my whole life and locked way down deep in a treasure chest. So when I came out it was like pandora's box opened up. I can relate to how you feel and keep opening to people it is a great feeling!!!!
