Talk openly and be honest. It's a safe confidential space,  and the process will work best if you can open up about your past,  and what (if)  you know what you want. X

Agreed.  They are there to help you.  But it's up to you to be honest with them so they have all the information.

What I did was to tell my whole life, the good, the not-so-good, as a running narrative.

In case anyone's interested. My 1st visit couldn't have gone better! A really nice lady. Very supportive and encouraging. Of course I'm asking myself why did I wait so long!

Wonderful,  glad to here this. I've found therapy to be extremely helpful, and always recommend it, but a good relationship between the two of you is key.
I remember it taking me 2 weeks just to send that first email; then just the same,  why did I wait so long! [emoji4]

You and me both.  I feel like a fool for holding myself back for so long, but I can't change the past.  I can, however, make a far brighter future for myself.

I started with an email also. Took me about a year to finally go forward. I explained as much as I could about my situation in the limited space I had. It's a gender clinic, so there wasn't much explanation required.

Hi raeanne. I'm also glad to hear that the session went so well!! Sounds like you found a good clinician and a good match for you. Hopefully you'll feel comfortable enough to talk about all the secret stuff that's been hiding inside for so long :)
