Title: Flying and airports
Post by: Megan. on December 05, 2017, 04:26:00 PM
In January I'll be flying out of Heathrow T5 with British Airways to Philadelphia and back. I'm pre-op (mtf) but living and presenting full-time. Any advice on getting through security smoothly and any other handy tips would be appreciated as it'll be my first time flying femme.

If they have the new scanners that can see everything, tell the operator you are transgender and to press the male button.

If not you may get a pat down since there will be... An anomaly in the scan.  I didn't that in Tampa.  Very professional and almost pleasant.

Smile, make sure your ID matches the ticket.

"One if by land, two if by sea.......three if they use the invasion tunnel.............darn it, she's flying in!

I think it's just like coming out: The two words "I'm transgender" are usually enough.

But since you wanted a handy tip, have a tip handy! Just kidding, I think bribing TSA is bad. Maybe not.  >:-)

I flew from Buffalo to San Francisco a couple of months ago. I got patted down on the top only by a female TSA agent.
She stopped at the buttom of my rib cage and asked "what's this?"
My response... "ummm my ribs?"
She sent me on my way.
Flying back to Buffalo I had no pat down.
