I live in the Moorhead-Fargo area for Academic reasons (that being I go to MSUM, go dragons!) and I'm noticing a lot of transition care clinics are all the way over in the St Paul-Minneapolis area. This is discouraging for me because I thought I'd maybe find a way to get hormone therapy by now. What can I do to transition in the meantime and should I try to save up money to move to St paul/Minneapolis so I can transition?

He said, "There is an issue with access to hormones in FM. Only one good gender therapist and only one prescribing endocrinologist so very long wait times. Still, there IS peer support there and talk of a new clinic starting up although that's not a reality yet." And, he's happy to get in touch with you.

Another option would be to get HRT from a non-endocrinologist (who could, if s/he desired consult with an endocrinologist). Managing hormone levels is not especially difficult, and many of the endocrinologist now seeing trans people learned it on the fly within the last 10 years. Mine certainly did.
Depending on what the OP wants, there may be quite a bit that is locally available. Perhaps not surgery, but of course not all of us go in that direction anyway, and at that point most of us travel.
