Im 17 and a Transguy btw. I've been waiting forever for my binder to come and it finally came today and I couldn't bring myself to wear it around. I tried it on and it fits. It's just now with those two problems kinda hidden it shined light on my weight and hips. I'm not fat but pretty chubby. Fat gathers around my hips and I got a muffin top. I know it's been there since I was little. I've always been chubby. Now I can't even enjoy my new binder with my tubby body there. Tbh my body neck to butt is pear shaped. I've tried loosing weight but, I never loose it where it's needed. Anyone else have this problem? Or have any supportive words?
T might help redistribute the fat off those areas. It has for me.
I'm going the other way. The fat all moved from ample belly to the female pattern - it hides the issue but it doesn't really go away! I think the only way to get rid of that issue is to exercise a lot along with the T. :) As a guy I cycled a lot. Thats a really good way to get rid of fat and its not so intensive you can't do it a lot.
Cycling and swimming should help. T ofc helps but fat redistrubation around the hip area is one of the last changes to occur. So exercise is a better solution.
If you bought a half top maybe try a full length binder. It should should help disguise some of the curves.
I personally like long line tops because they create the illusion of me having a narrower waistline
I have the same issue with an upper body much smaller than my hips/butt area, I'm also ftm. Been on T long enough to know it's not gonna change my body shape more than it already has. However I manage that now by dressing in ways that make me appear more square-shaped.
I wear tighter pants (straight cut, low waist, tight around butt but looser downwards), looser shirts, button-ups, and suit jackets which give width to my shoulders.
Waist coats/vests help stomach look flatter as well as "fills out" a narrower waist (sides). Over all a very flattering type of clothing. "Sweater vests" work really well too, but they're a bit out of fashion and not many seem to like them.
I focus details on my upper body and face to distract from my hip/butt area.
I avoid big pockets on butt region of pants.
I always wear pants darker than shirt/jacket (or all/both black).
Long jackets and cardigans that cover my hips work wonders too. (But long cardigans do sometimes come off as a feminine type of clothing, which could be good to be aware of. I like them regardless though. Men's style cardigans are typically shorter.)
I don't care for the long binders, especially in summer, and i've found that the shorter ones bind better for me. But the longer ones are an option. I used to wear the underworks swim binder all the time and it sort of compressed the belly a little bit. Or you could get a regular compression shirt to go over/under the binder you have.
I have the same issue with a belly and hips, but i've learned to ignore it for the most part - i would rather have a flatter chest and a belly than a feminine top half. I figure the belly fat will work it's way off over time as i change my diet (eating healthier) and start exercising more (i do yoga, cycling, and weights/bodyweight 3x week now). I've been told it's the hardest to get rid of and to be patient. T will also help burn a bit off, and shift the fat off my hips, but that takes a lot of time so i'm not counting on it too much.
Unfortunately weight loss can't be limited to a target area. You lose all over, little at a time. But if you are a bit overweight it doesn't hurt to work towards a goal of losing that weight, and over time even a little bit can seem like a lot. You can also work towards building muscle which can give your upper body and legs more of a bulky look to offset the middle. Start a little at a time, develop a routine, and also work on your diet (reduce carbs, sugar, processed foods, fast food, etc - start with one thing at a time.) Don't give up.
Good luck!
