Title: HRT at 25
Post by: reverie2148 on December 19, 2017, 02:09:43 AM
Hi everyone,

I am just about to start HRT this coming summer which makes me on my mid 25 by that time. I am just a little bit concern on how will my transition look like since I am transitioning later than most people. I'm concerned that it might not help me that much. I am 25 years old, 5'9 currently in 170LBS. I have long legs since I use to train Taekwondo when I was younger. I also have long thin fingers from playing the piano. my body is not really that toned since I do not have time to work out recently because of my schedule. currently, I am not taking anything such as Tblockers or hormones, but I should start taking all of that by summer. I do some morning yoga too if time permits.

would love to hear everyone's insight into what should I expect? will HRT make you gain weight of lose weight?

Hi reverie2148

Welcome to Susan's

HRT is such a personal thing and there is no way to really tell how it will impact you until you actually take it. There are general idea's , fat redistribution and breast growth are common with Oestrogen, increased muscle mass and hair  along with a deepening of the voice with Testosterone. There are some here who get next to nothing physically from HRT and yet there are others who see dramatic changes. Your mileage may vary is the common term (YMMV). I wish you good luck on your journey

Hi welcome! Which person are you in the photos? I'm assuming since you mentioned t blockers you're mtf?  I'm starting at 27 and I feel the same way. Wish I had started at 17- if only I knew that was what I needed at the time!

I started at 27 and am pleased with my results.  Fashion choices, beard removal/reduction, hairstyles etc all play a role when it comes to the effects of transitioning, not just hrt.  Hrt made me gain weight, quite a bit actuallly, but I was very underweight before starting.

I started at age 25, tho (biologically) I was a bit younger. It's a fine time to refresh your life.

Hi, Reverie.  25 is younger than most people transition.  The majority are in their 40s and 50s.  I started at 62.  So your youth will smooth your transition.  Judging by your face in the photos, you will have no difficulty passing.

Hi everyone,
Thankyou for all you kind words of encouragements. I'm already in my 2weeks in hrt, i notice that My cheeks blush easily even involuntary. Everything seems way brighter or happier everyday and omg my face! I can't stop touching it I'm getting breakouts it's just so soft. It's sometimes hard to focus because of it. My hands are naturally soft but when my best friends touched it they said they never thought it can go even softer. They call it the magic pill and wants to get some too but I told them they're already women it won't change anything for them. Here my photo up date I'm the on wearing glasses at the middle and the one hold a poop emoji in the stella rosa photo.

Here's an update on me 2weeks in HRT. I still couldn't stop touching my face still it's just so soft. I tried going to this 3day keto diet just to lose some of my unwanted fats before my fat starts to redistribute.
