Hi everyone, If I may introduce myself my name is Stephanie and I'm a 52 year old, just starting transitioning, transsexual. I'd love to share a photo with you all as it feels strange introducing myself blind to you, but I understand why the fifteen rule postings is in place, and hopefully will get there soon, by chatting to you all. I'm based in the county of Hertfordshire, in the UK.
I'm currently in the process of growing my hair, booked to have my first feminine haircut mid next month. I've lost about 50lbs in weight since the summer through dieting and am looking to start hormones in the new year.

Welcome from a Blackpool girl
Hi Stephanie, I'm a 40 y/o MTF just up the road in Bedfordshire (Biggleswade), though I spent most of my life growing up in Herts and I work in Stevenage.
I went full-time back in May of this year, and started HRT in July.
Great work on the weight loss, and enjoy your salon visit, it's a real treat [emoji4].

Stephanie, there is a trans* support group that meets in Cambridge each week (Thursdays) called Cambridge Diamonds. I used to be a regular, and still go occasionally. I'd be very happy to meet you there to catch up. I could do 4th or 25th Jan? X

I started the transition ball rolling 4 years ago at age 52 as well and I hear in your words, the sound of someone who is ready to claim a new life, finally your own!!!

Thanks Ashley for your kind words of encouragement. It's good that you can sense my direction & movement forward. I couldn't even see it myself until a couple of months ago. your message reminded me of a profile update i put on another site a couple of months ago
"I originally listed myself as a crossdresser on here, when I commenced going out as Stephanie, but having lost a stone and a half in weight, and having consciously started growing my hair out, both motivated solely by wishing to be more feminine. I had a "the penny dropped" moment when reading/researching recently. Whilst I in my mind, was trying to figure out my next step, I've already taken it, I've begun the process of Transitioning, this has made way to acceptance, and I now identify myself as being transsexual and will be looking to continue down this path. Updates to follow."
as you say a long journey ahead, & it's nice knowing I have friends here, but it's a journey i've started x

I was looking through you thread here and noticed your Avatar. You are a good looking lady I love the hair. I used to wear a longer style too but then I tried this and everyone like it better so it's what I use. I even have a longer one somewhere still in it bag I haven't even tried on yet. sigh I really should hunt it down. Those curls look so feminine on you.

Thanks Laurie :) I got advised by a girlfriend that I could probably get away with hair that long for another two years. That said my own hair was cut back to a number one crop in the summer to go under a wig, I've grown it out to just under three inches now, and I've my first "femme" cut and style booked for the 18th this month, though it's 50/50 whether it will be long enough yet, will have to see, I will post a photo when I have it done and let you all decide. Happy new year all x
