What exactly is non binary?

Binary is CIS or transsexual. Non binary is everything else. Our WIKI (https://www.susans.org/wiki/Transgender) has a pretty good description of what is transgender so if you eliminate transsexual, you have the non binary. Is this list all inclusive? I don't think so and I believe there are other description that will be added as time goes on.
Both yet neither. I'm part man, part woman. That's non-binary. :)

When you identify as something else other than male or female. You feel innately you're a bit of both or neither. It's the same feeling you get when you simply feel completely without doubt male or female.
"Non binary" is a term that's come into vogue in recent times that seems to be used to describe people who before might have been referred to as "androgynous" or "androgynes". From my observation it seems to be more popular with genetic females than genetic male androgynous people. Anyway, it's a term for someone who doesn't wish to be identify themselves as either male or female. I fully expect some other term to replace it in time.
I've never really cared for or used the term. It kind of reminds me of high school math class. I could be designated as non binary, but over my life I've drifted from one term to another. At them moment I rather like calling myself an androgynist. It's not a term used much, which is kind of why I like it. I'm androgynous because I want to be and not because I really have to.
Well, it could mean being Hexadecimal or Octal... (just kidding: nerd joke) :D
I guess I'm non-binary right now (and maybe forever). Crunchy male-ish outer coating with a soft creamy sweet female filling (just kidding again).
I present to the world as "soft" male. That means mostly androgynous. My voice, beard shadow and frame spoof my attempts at pulling off presenting female most of the time (in anything but dim light). This is by conscious choice and is different from some who, as NB, just feel that they are truly neither gender. In my case, the suffering incurred by full transition at my age and place outweigh the suffering of just being where I am. YMMV. As the years of HRT use for me go by, I anticipate even the crunchy outer coating will melt away.

Well, I'm non-binary, but "transsexual" in the sense that I'm medically transitioning to female, including SRS once I lose another 50 lbs.
Normally, "binary" in the context of gender generally means
(a) entirely male or entirely female, or
(b) the assumption that people are
either male
or female, excluding being somehow both or neither.
In my case, I don't feel like the "real me" has any gender at all, but I'm more comfortable living and presenting as a woman.
