Title: Cottage Cheese Thighs
Post by: DeniseGrace on December 28, 2017, 04:34:54 AM
Has anyone experienced "cottage cheese" thighs developing after HRT weight redistribution kicks in?

If so, any ideas on how to improve that look?

Thanks much

A little bit. Short of exercise and trying to lower bodyfat levels (where safe to do so), it's a reality that many women face, welcome to womanhood!

Lumpy fat under the skin is what many women call "cellulite". There is no anatomical structure that is labeled as cellulite. It is just regular body fat under loose skin.

There have been many products sold that were claimed to be a treatment for cellulite, but none were truly effective.

The only effective treatments are diet and exercise. This will reduce the fat layer, but many of us will still have the loose skin to deal with. Surgery is the most effective way to remove a large amount of loose skin. There are a few lotions that will temporarily tighten skin somewhat. These are sold as facial skin repair or body skin firming lotions.

I have lost over 100 pounds and this left me with a lot of loose skin. I had surgery to remove most of it, but I still have some loose skin in some places. For those areas, I am using Nivea body firming lotion. It is reasonably priced and safe. One application will not remove loose skin, but repeated use will slightly tighten and hydrate the skin to show significant improvement.

As others have said losing bodyfat is the solution.  Adding muscle to your legs would help a lot too, both in improving looks and in speeding the fat loss process.

It happens when the estrogen activates clumps of fat cells under the skin irregularly to begin storing fat. The fat distribution process under estrogen can be a bit haphazard sometimes. As mentioned by others, losing a bit of weight will sort it out.
