What is the way to discontinue the spironolactone after an orchiectomy? Does the dose decrease gradually or stop abruptly?
please don't forget the details "if you can" :)
I would also like to hear the answer, I am scheduled for orch in a few months.
I'm sure my endo will want to step it down slowly. I don't think it's ever wise to
Stop a dietetic blood pressure med cold turkey.
I stopped it cold turkey when I switched to Androcur and was perfectly fine.
It was bringing my blood pressure way too low though.
You just stop taking it, in my case it was a week before surgery. I do miss the salt cravings.

No orchi as I'm having SRS with Suporn in a year.
And I think it does when the dosage is too high. It is very strong and I only take one every other day, and I'm not depressed.

Yes, Androcur can cause depression, particularly at higher doses. It happened to me a couple of times before I discontinued AA's under my doctor's supervision. A depressive episode would trigger a short break from Androcur, about 2 weeks, and then restarting at a lower dose.

I stopped Androcur due to side effects and find that, as per my doctors suggestion, I don't need a T blocker at all any more.
I stopped spironolactone 2 days before GCS as per my doctor.
Thanks all :-*
