Hi girls,
I want to write this (hopefully) not too long 6 year update on my SRS (I'm old school and prefer sex reassignment surgery, as I feel it more correctly describes what was done to me).
Firstly, let me start off by saying I don't regret going to Dr Suporn. I think he is an amazing doctor, whose surgery changed my life and let me live semi-normally for 4 years. I enjoyed an active sex life with a heavily self lubricating vagina: I have not once, in the past 6 years used lube during sex. In fact, I self lubricate enough that I have had, well, the other type of penetrative intercourse, using only my own lubrication. I can also orgasm vaginally and clitorally. The appearance overall is quite nice, men certainly seem to think it's beautiful, but I won't lie, there are unattractive aspects (mostly the "gaping" that I think is common with all if Dr Suporn's vaginas, which is ironic considering how extremely tight we tend to be).
2 years ago, however, when I was 4 years post op, I stopped dilating for a period of around 3 months. Stupid I know, but I had my reasons. Anyway, when I started again, I realized I had lost around 3 inches of depth. You can imagine my devastation. I had gone from being able to sleep with just about any guy, to not having a functional depth. I have since regained 1 inch, but that's it. At 6 years post op, I am left feeling like dilation is as much a part of my life as it was around 6 months post op, and I. Am. Hating. It. So much, in fact, that I would hesitate to recommend Dr Suporn's surgery to anyone. Dilation for me was painful and extrmely time consuming from day 1. Well, day 1 of dilation, that is. The first month is supposed to be "easy", because the tissue isn't contracting yet. That was NOT the case for me, as my tissues began contracting immediately after thr packing was removed, and I have had to fight for my vagina ever since. Dilation certainly became more bearable a few years after surgery, but it never became easy. It's relatively easy now (compared to the absolute torture it used to be), but I am dilating tima depth that's 2.5 inches shallower than it used to be, and it's certainly still uncomfortable. I am also still extremely tight, to the point where every man comments on it. They don't mind it, in fact they love it, but it's uncomfortable to me. I also haven't been able to enjoy sex since I lost so much of my depth, because I just feel like my vagina isn't adequate anymore. Going from almost 8 inches down to barely 5 makes a huge, huge difference.
In conclusion, Suporn's approach has, in my experience, been far superior to the traditional penile inversion technique, but with very real trade offs, and countless hours spent dilating. However, if you have a well endowed partner, you may be able to have a better experience than me. When I was having sex reslly regularly, as in several times a week, everything was perfect (but still very, very tight).
Can you please tell me more about the gaping thing? Is the vagina always gaping?
No not always, but when I spread my legs, it's not closed the way a natural vagins is.
Thank you for posting this. I didn't realize you could lose depth so quickly at 4 years post-op. I'll definitely remember it for the future.
I've always heard that width is easily regained, but it sounds like you're having trouble with it. You're doing dynamic dilation with the large dilator? How often are you dilating now?
The gaping is one of the things fixed by a posterior commisure revision. Its mentioned in that pdf on Suporn (page 149 of the 3rd edition).

Yeah, I didn't realize it either, but again, my body was always difficult when it came to dilation.
I still get the large dilator in quite easily after opening up with the medium dilator, but it definitely does feel... stretched. And yeah, I do dynamic dilation, but being 6 years post op, dilating several times a week shouldn't be necessary.
I knew about the fix for it, I just am not in a hurry to go back to Chonburi (I haaaaaated that place), and I am afraid of not dilating again.

A month off dilating after posterior commisure revision would worry me too if I was in your situation. The only difficulty is the free revisions are ending soon with Suporn retiring.
I've heard of women healing very quickly, but they also stretched out the dilation intervals really quickly too. There's such an incredible range of experiences out there.

His replacement is not going to offer the free revisions ?

I'm considering having my entire vagina redone with Dr Kaushik, but if not, I'll have to get a revision in soon! Thanks for the tip!
My dilation was so terrible that I could never do 3 times a day, because doing 2 a day took 8 - 10 hours. I couldn't work for a full 7 months.

Its a bit complicated, and I think they are making a mistake with this new policy, but its on their site

Long term there's one free revision, from 12 to 18 months after SRS.

If you go for the colon vaginolplasty it could be worth looking at PAI in Bangkok. I expect they are familiar with Dr Suporn's work. I'd be a bit concerned about having more problems though. Your healing sounds very unusual - do you have any reason to believe it would be different with this technique?
PAI's also relatively cheap and short wait list and has a good hospital.

Exactly ....
Pai almost do the same amount as the standard grs surgery ...I think it was 140 colovaginaplasty vs the 160 grs standard

I don't want thr traditional colon procedure - I want Dr Kaushik's proprietary sigma-lead one.
Well, yes. Suporn uses a perforated skin graft, hence the comtractions. Intense scar tissue. So intense, that even 4 years post op, I managed to lose 3 inches of depth. This vs the sigma-lead colon procedure that can give you up to 10 inches of depth that won't close.. it's a no brainer. I also prefer well endowed men, so my current depth of 5 inches has kept me from having sex for so, so, so long, and when I do, I can't relax. If I can get back my original 8 inches and more from a procedure that also will eliminate my need to dilate, well.. it's all I've ever wanted, tbh.

If I'm not mistaken tho ,I thought Kaushik's version to get to that length you want he still need to use the penis n colon ?!?! A 10 Indy NeoVagina is the dream esp for us girls who seem to get anaconda penises [emoji854]... That's how I took it by reading it on his website.

I don't think it's the same for everyone.

my body was always difficult when it came to dilation.
I can only speak for myself, but the two others that I know also lost depth and find dilation painful still, all these years later.
It's worth mentioning that we were all young when we had our surgery, as in late teens/early twenties. It seems the older women have less issues.

Why is that? How big is the difference? And how can you know that? Is this a Suporn-specific thing?
I wonder whether this may simply be due to life style and a different use of their body.
Hi IsabellaSwan, I'm an ex Suporn girl and i'm having similar issues to you. I had SRS with Suporn in 2004 when i was 23. I haven't lost depth as quickly as you but i have lost it very gradually to the point i have half the depth i had after surgery. I made another post here titled "Dr Suporn + 15 years later"
Like you I found Dilation painful, I still do to this day although it is tolerable. The longest i have gone without dilating is about 6 months, but that was after like 5 years, at that point i didn't think it would be an issue, but it was. Despite dilating regularly the depth loss continued, I never gained anything back and after dialating (and intercourse) i found that i couldn't sit for a day with out discomfort and pain.
Post surgery with Suporn i had 6 inches (which was amazing due to the lack of material i had a the time) By the time i got home it was 5.5 inches and has declined from then. Earlier this year I found out that my guarantee expired in December but they were unwilling to book me in this year as they had no space but i could go for my "revision" at a charge, which i found weird as when i booked surgery with him it was a lifetime guarantee? he is still practicing and i am still alive, lol.
I also have the gaping Issue and in 2006 i went back for a revision which did not solve it, and i was told he could do nothing about the depth issue apart from keep on dilating!
Dr Suporn is a great surgeon and I don't regret going to him, at the time I considered him the best in the world, compared to everything that was on offer at the time. He gave me my life, i found him by accident and for that i will be eternally grateful to him. But at 37 this is where i am at.
I first joined this forum to find more information about Dr Kaushik as he seamed like the answer to my issue. From what i've read on here it has made me a bit nervous going to him although his website and his process seams amazing! this is a post i could find about Dr kaushik and it made me feel a bit nervous.
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,223117.0.html
I would defiantly put dr kaushik as my first choice if i could find more about him and going to india for surgery makes me a bit nervous.
For sigmoid colon i'm currently considering PAI and Dr Kamol in thailand.
If you've found more info about Dr kaushik please let me know. Like i said when i started reserching corrective SRS he was my first choice, no i'm not so sure.
Thanks for sharing your experience, It makes me feel like i'm not the only suporn girl with this issue.
Love and Hugs,
Sam x
