Title: How do you feel
Post by: Christy Lee on January 11, 2018, 05:09:27 AM
About being misgendered in boy mode? ie before you started transitioning. or in the process of it, i havent started yet, and its happened to me a couple of times, on the phone i've been called Ma'am, and ive been hit on a couple of times in boy mode (obvi) but then they saw my adams apple (which is barely visible IMO)

It happens to me all the time.. I get "miss" or "ma'am" and I even got told I was in the wrong bathroom at university.

I like it usually, although it can be awkward. But it means the hormones are working and everything is going to plan.

Its happened, but its few and far between. Getting the occasional ma'am in boy mode is reassuring. I think theyre crazy, but... hey, I'll take it. Apparently the medication is working better than I perceived.

That's when I started thinking "this stupid stunt might just work after all."

Getting ma'amed several times by a waiter while in guy mode in front of coworkers the day before I came out to them was really reassuring.

It makes for a great segue, if nothing else.

One of my coworkers laughed and said "Now I know why you didn't bother correcting the waiter last night"

My confidence was not super high at the start and things have DEFINITELY gone better than expected.

I got gendered as female most of the time before transition but I was very androgynous anyway. It happened so much that my dad and brother just went along with it rather than bothering to correct them. I think it was mostly my size that made people think I was female if they couldn't tell exactly what I was. My mom on the other hand always corrected people who misgendered me. It made me happy except for when my mom corrected people and told them I was a boy. That pissed me off.

I kinda look androgynous sort of in a way but i look more manly *sigh* while also somewhat feminine at the same time

I think its cus im a tall person, maybe if i wasnt so tall i would look more on the feminine side of things

Well I can't say it ever happened. If it ever did I don't remember it. Part of getting older I guess so many things stuffed up there that even bad things can hide and jump out to get you when you're not looking.
Anyway it is too late not since I've gone full time, "boy mode" doesn't happen. The occasional Ma'm is nice to hear though.

Hugs,
   Laurie

Had it happen a few times, mostly because I've almost always had long hair and they were looking at me from the back.  More often when I was a kid and very skinny also.

I never got mad at or corrected anyone and usually was  smiling on the inside.   They usually did the I mean sir apology.   There was one time after I started transition but before I was full time where a cashier corrected her self and I told no thats ok, I prefer ma'am. This was as I was leaving so I did not hear or see if she had a reaction to that.

Ir happened a few times ago. At that time I didn't want anything to relate me to the other gender so it was terrible. It also happened after transition started, but there wasn't really a "boy mode" after the first dose of estrogen.
