Hi!
I've been reading the forum for about a year and sporadically posting and thought it was time to introduce myself. Or past time. What can I say, I'm shy.
I've seen many stories here that sound similar to mind (that's a comfort!). I'm as MtF gal who's a bit over 6 month into my transition.
Every since I can remember I've wanted to be a girl. As 4 year old I'd tell my mom that I wanted a dress. She thought it was funny. Little did she know. Like many of us, I've tried to deny it over the years. I've crossed dressed over the years, purged, and started up again. I tried very hard to live as a guy. I got married, had kids, bought a house and tried to be "normal." It didn't work. I was terribly unhappy and no surprise, my marriage fell apart because of it. Now, at 40, I had to do something about it or end up dead.

This place has been a big help to me. Before I found this place I thought I was alone. Reading your stories gave me the courage to finally talk to my doctor and start the long process.

Reading between the lines sounds like you had a bit of a rocky road.  Not unusual.
Good to see that you have accepted who you are, and hopefully not so alone now.

I'm sure my road hasn't been any more rocky than most everyone on here. I survived! I have to brilliant kids and I'm still talking to my ex. Can't be that bad, can it? Sure it's not perfect, you know the whole being born the wrong sex thing, the looking like a man in drag, having to take lots of medications and surgery, the embarrassment, the expense, but other than that....
