I am certain this site has literally saved lives, possibly even my own. It has helped us understand ourselves and has helped others come out of the darkness. It is an oasis in the desert for hundreds if not thousands of people drifting between two worlds. I believe anyone who posts something on this site helps someone else. The information and support I found here gave me the strength to start an unexpected journey. Even though I still have a long way to go it has helped me find joy again.
Susan's is way short of their goal this month. Let's try to start the year on the same positive note we ended on last year. I realize not everyone can help out financially, especially this time of year with all the extra expenses. If you can't help out this month, maybe you can do so later in the year.
I can't do this every month, but I will again match the total donations made to this site between now and the end of the month up to $500.
Right now (23 Jan) the current 'Support' banner shows donations just over $550. If that gets up to $1050.00 or more I will add $500. For any total under $1050 I will match the additional donations dollar for dollar.
Done (assuming I did it right).
Thanks for the challenge Jessica Rose. It's a shame we go through this exercise every month.
I see the numbers already going up a bit. Thanks!
DawnOday, I agree. With all the good this site does I would think there would be enough donations to keep Susan's well-funded. I also realize not everyone can afford to help out, especially with all of the bills from the holidays. If folks could just skip one trip to Starbuck's every month (I have nothing against Starbuck's!) and donate the money to Susan's it would be a big help. My company had a really nice bonus this year, and I wanted to do some good with part of it. I could not think of a better place than Susan's.
Well done Jessica,
I agree wholeheartedly with you. Also subscribing helps as well. My wife doesn't follow or contribute but understands the resource that Susan has created so she subscribes. If you have joined this family then subscribe, contribute or look at moving on. We are all here to help each other and the reason we are HERE is due to Susan. If we do not help Susan and then she has to shut down her server then where would you go.
Lots of very small dollops are as valuable as large irregular dollops.
I have been privileged to meet Susan personally and I do not think a lot of people understand the personal sacrifice she has made. I have never met a selfless, generous, caring and loving individual that would give you her last breath to help you survive as I have found in Susan.
Let's help make 2018 a year for Susan to celebrate. She may be the reason you are still making it here in this world.

I envy you SueNZ. I have yet to personally meet anyone on the forums, but that may change in a week or two!
Just want to give this a bump...hopefully it will get some traction soon because Susan's needs some donations!
Done wish I could do more if people paid my back the money I lent them or took out a loan for I would have lots more money to help
Thank you Natalie! Any amount helps. The main page shows 517 users logged in over the last 24 Hours. If each of them could give $4 Susan's would be set for the month. I realize many users of this site simply can't spare the funds, that is perfectly fine. This site is free to everyone regardless of their situation. Those who can donate are helping hundreds of people every day by helping keep this site open.
I can't always do it either, but just bumped it up $50. Looks like it takes a bit to register.

Awesome! Thanks Bari Jo!
I do not want anyone to feel guilty if they can't donate. I understand many folks simply can't afford it, no explanation is required. In a way everyone already contributes by simply posting useful information. Please only donate if you can do so without causing any personal hardships. If you are visiting this site you life is already more difficult than most, and this site is here to help, not to make life harder.
A little side note to our many guests. If you wish to help out a little, you don't have to become a member to do so. Payments are made through PayPal and while they they will show up on a credit card, the entry will not show as Susan's Place. Instead it will show as an abbreviation of Susan's Place so it's not traceable on the web. To subscribe you need to be a member but anybody can donate if they wish.
I'm curious if my membership fees are accounted for at the end of the month to balance the books?
I've been meaning to raise my monthly level. When you do this, does signing up for a new level automatically cancel the previous?
As far as I know not. You will have to cancel the existing membership through PayPal and start a new one through Susan's.

Not as much as usual from my end but I tried to chip in too :-)

Good luck Jessica, on meeting people you converse with here, my wife also met with Susan and she had a great day out. My wife, Michele really enjoyed her company and was sad to see us head away.

We have had several folks come forward with contributions, but we need more! For every dollar you donate to Susan's Place through the end of January up to a total of $500, I will personally match the donation. Let's help get Susan's Place off to a good start this year!
A bunch of generous people have been making donations, we are just a bit over halfway to the $500 match I promised. Come on, make me come through with all of it!
There is still about $150 more to go to reach the amount I promised to match, and there are only a few days left in the month. If any of you can make a donation to Susan's it will help immensely. For those of you have already donated, thanks!!!
OK. No one may have realized that the magic number has been reached, but you did it. My $500 donation should appear soon. Despite this effort, Susan's is still quite short of their goal for the month. If you can throw something into the pot it will be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks once again Jessica for your generous help to keep this site alive!!!
