Asakawa... Dont let numbers on a tape become too much of a focus... they are just numbers and our appearance is way more governed by how we carry ourself, clothing choices etc.... undo worry about numbers is nothing more than an ingredient in a recipe for anxiety!!!

I am currently...

37 bust
31.5 underbust

28 waist

37 hips

5'8"
138 pounds

Woops! I placed it in the wrong forums to start. My mistake.

I see lots of shapely girls :) but I am also seeing some skipping out on the over the top measurement (Below the armpits). I know that usually is the scary number to take, but it could help shine some light to see how similar our bodies really are and maybe help others not feel too self conscious about it.

There is a trick to that number though. It usually gets wider if you slide open your scapulas and hunched over, but if you TUCK your scapulas against your back and bring your shoulders in and down the number actually gets much smaller. That's also a much more feminine posture by the way! Looks much nicer than scapulas rotated out and hunched over. I think its also called the shoulder blade.

Don't be shy!

Deborah I wanted to do thigh too! But I was wondering if it was going to be too much :(

I got 26 1/2 on the upper thigh that was measuring below the butt crease around the thigh that is the thickest part. 23 1/2 ont he middle of the thigh. Did you measure mid thigh of or high thigh below butt crease?

Wow, your below the arm pit rib cage measurement is almost the same as your under bust! That is incredible! You have, like, an ideal girly mannequin body which I think is really pretty! Basically an ideal figure to dress in all sorts of girly clothes and dresses. So lucky! You must get a lot of attention from the guys? You must have!

I measured it up high.  It's actually an inch smaller than when I started HRT but I was 30 lbs heavier then and way out of shape.  Now there's not a whole lot of fat on my thighs at all.

Hi Deborah,

Is it fair to say that muscle is heavier than fat but more compact while fat is lighter, but takes up more space? I'm at a loss between wanting to gain more weight, but wanting to do so at 'good' places. Anyway, I'm a vegetarian and already kind of of heavy :(. I don't even want to think how much I'd weight if I ate meat. I've been told I have a big frame and it looks like I am the bigger girl around here x-x not sure if I should be proud or start digging dirt out of the ground lol. I added the thigh measurement to the first post hopefully some will share that number too. This is so exciting !

Keeping in mind I'm still quite overweight (i can pull way too much fat off, like at least  good 3+ inches of pure flab around rib cage :-\)... ;D

over - 41
mid - 43
under - 41

waist 37

hips 43

5'9-5'10 at 215 lbs. I have sucked on my diet the past few months but I haven't gained back anything fortunately.

I feel like i can get down to at least 37 over and under on rib cage off of weight loss, maybe a touch more with muscle loss (i definitely have a lot, my family has freakish muscle building potential I don't even do anything for it, thanks 1480 testosterone). I want to hit like a 32 waist (If I pull super tight even with the fat I can get close, so who knows), and hopefully maintain a 40+ hip. I like hips. ;D

Bust 36-38C
Waist 28-30 (if i eat lol)
Hips 41

Eh, it works for me.

6'2  180#   If that matters.

My over the chest measurement was 38" until about six months ago.  Then I started working out and let myself gain 10 lbs and my over the chest measurement went up by 3 1/4", my middle up by 1.5" and under up by 1".  Hips and waist each went up 1".

Roll, you and I have very similar body types, I think. Some differences, but I think somewhat similar. How strong are you? Are you able to do, like, pull ups, single leg squats, and hand stand push ups??? If I can I want to reduce my waist measurement too and also under the bust while keeping the hips! Let's see what we can do girl!

There are some very specific 'targeted' exercise by the dozens for increasing hip size/butt...which will reduce your waistline in comparison.  Fat burning will be generalized usually (not targeted) but muscle gain targeted.  If that makes sense.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents :)

You are right that is probably why I see girls at the gym doing butt exercise and work outs ALL the time. For that if I were to be going for muscle gain though I would think that doing many many reps won't work as well as doing 3 reps of ridiculous heavy weight? I actually like Taekwondo, so I get to do 'legs' when I do it since it is all legs and, well, I hope it is also butt :). I actually also took Ballet for 5 or 6 semesters at college, but it felt like it was mainly targeting my calfs and thighs and also butt, but I think the calfs were the ones getting a killing. Also the muscle on the inside of my foot and under! I'd guess if I were to go super heavy legs I would have to do Sumo! Which I did do, but only for two classes. That class was so hard I thought I was going to die lol maybe I should consider going back?

Capoeira is also pretty good on legs and butt. That ginga can give your legs and butt  a work out!

And also the variations to the esquivas, which is almost like doing squats x-x, are pretty good. I don't think you can go wrong with capoeira on the butt sector lol.

I've never been able to do pull ups even when I was actually in shape beyond having the weird genetic baseline strength. I'm somewhat awkward body structure for pull ups and sit-ups, my center of gravity is unusual or something like that I think. People in worse shape with less strength could do them fine, but I just couldn't for the life of me. Single leg squats I never really tried, though I'm reasonably sure when I was in shape younger probably could have. Definitely not with the extra fat now, though even with it I can out squat anyone around me (it's probably my only real go to exercise at the moment).

I have always had bulkier lower body than upper body, in a somewhat feminine pattern actually (thighs and hips) to the point I always felt self conscious in anything but loose hanging pants (I NEVER wore jeans as a guy). Also probably didn't help the pull ups since lower body was disproportionately stronger than upper. When I actually went to the gym for exercise when I was in my teens I would always get weird surprised stares on the weight I did on the leg press(was like 17 years ago though, can't remember actual numbers for the life of me, but caused some funny comments from the trainer working with me and a friend).

Hand stand push ups, definitely not. ;D Way too much extra weight and I have crappy balance regardless. Single handed normal pushups, not a problem. I can balance on one leg just fine, but I've never, ever been able to balance on my hands, even using both.

In other words: I have a natural tendency towards easy muscle building and retention (all my father's family does, women included, pure farm stock ;D), but I never did anything with it aside from a few spurts of exercising a handful of times over the years before falling back into depression driven video game binging. Honestly, I've seen some crazy feats of lifting from my grandfather before he passed away (he was a physical labor until the day he died in his 90s type) and now my father even at 70+, but I doubt either of them have ever done a handstand. I suppose you could say that I have a genetic tendency towards more "lets go build a brick wall" strength than fancy gym work or borderline martial arts stuff. Which makes sense I suppose because we're super obviously Scottish background. :P

I really don't want muscle though aside from basic tone, I'm hoping that the family secret is the high T (as I mentioned, I measured at 1480 before starting HRT, which is well outside the norm and over double the average) and that the spiro takes care of that and I drop some fair amount of width all around along with the fat loss. I really want to be a smaller person.

Over bust 49.5
Bust 47.5
Under 45
Waist 48
Hips 35
Very squishy on the upper and mid body, not squishy at all from the hip down.
5' 11"  235# still pre-hrt
When I first began really questioning my gender (aside from the deep denial and repression) about 7 years ago, I was at 320#. I still want to get down to around 175# but diabetes and other medical problems are making that goal increasingly difficult. I will be starting dutasteride next month for bph, and I'm trying to arrange my first therapy session with the only experienced gender therapist within 150 miles of my home. At this point it's a maybe sometime next month. Slowly but surely, hopefully the tortoise gets to win this one too.

Roll I still think you and I have similar body types just you are definitely the stronger gal lol for the life of me I have never been able to do a push up or a pull up, but my lower body was the stronger of the two halfs lol. I went and took out an old soft boned bustier I used to wear and wow does it feel tight now! I used to wear this one years back during hrt and I think it helped me tame down the under bust cage :). I guess it is time for us both gals to lose some of that extra weight lol. With the compression I get 32 1/2 on the waist  34 1/2 under the bust and 42 at the bust. Oddly I think back then my waist was 32" in girth, but for the life of me I can't remember exactly. Wish I had wrote it down somewhere.

Shanon good luck girl and don't you give up on your desires to be who you are ;) you are definitely on the right track
