Title: Recommended hair restoration surgeons
Post by: antia212 on February 01, 2018, 09:46:10 AM
Hi, is there a list of recommended hair restoration surgeons in the US (or abroad if more affordable) with extensive experience on trans women? I'm starting to do some research and just so much comes up on google; it's a bit overwhelming. Thanks so much!

Dr. Steven Gabel, Hillsboro, OR, is phenomenal.  He is a hair restoration specialist.  He works with a lot of Trans patients, he actaully wrote the transgender hairline feminization chapter in the plastic surgeons teaching text.  I love the work he did for me.  He also specializes in Mega Sessions.  He will knock out 3000+ grafts at a time, and he can pack them in very dense. This equates to getting a full head of hair in short time.  Big selling point for me.  Waiting to heal then a second operation, then heal, then a thrid, or forth wasn't all that appealing.  4 months after hair restoration, I had a full head of hair and some decent length to it.  It continued to get thicker and thicker over the last year.  Here are my 6 month photos.

Wow, your hair looks amazing!  I have a similar hair pattern as yours pre-restoration, though my hair is very fine. It always has been. Would it be okay to PM you to ask about the total cost? Thanks so much!

Sure. 3166 grafts (which is a ton) was just under 12k. My hair is very fine as well.

And feel free, PM away.

I agree, I was literally getting on here to research this! I feel like so many people do grafts, but I want to know for sure that I'm going to the best person for trans.  I have square corners I want rounded and I want the middle of my forehead scar covered.

The one above I am definitely going to research -- ladies please post if you have any other suggestions. I am in the south, but I can travel anywhere within the US
