Title: Transgender Women Wins Premier Starcraft 2 Tournament
Post by: JessicaHF on February 20, 2018, 11:20:09 AM
With all the negative news around lately, I thought everyone would like to see something positive about a transgender women for once.

I have been playing Starcraft 2 competitively for about a year and have been following some of the pro e-sports tournaments and that's when I saw Sasha "Scarlett" Hostyn become the first woman to win a premier Starcraft 2 tournament a couple weeks ago. I started looking for more information on her story and I found that she is a transgender women! Don't worry, I'm not outing her, she is very open about being transgender, she just says it's not an issue and doesn't define who she is.

I thought it was very exciting to see that she has not only been accepted into a very male dominated e-sports community, but she was also kicking butt!

Here is a story from ESPN about her win...

Hopefully Sasha's example can give some of us hope that we can not only be accepted as our trueselves, but that we can thrive in our new lives too!

I completely agree!
I think in transitioning we can also become so obcessed with attaining something,
That we can potentially loose sight of who we were.

Im glad she's still laying it down on the keys and just doing what she loves no matter what people say!
Congrats and may her future have more pylons. Lol <3

This is brilliant. I love Blizzard games having played World of Warcraft for years. Good for her, it's honestly people like Sasha that give us all hope. I wish her the best of luck, esports is really taking off, I can't wait until it gets the same status as other sports, maybe one day it could be an olympic event!  :)
