Hi all,
I am an MtF from an east asian country and have a lot of MtF friends there. I have noticed a pattern that the majority of MtFs in my country are of the "IN" (introverted intuitive) types in the Myers-Briggs personality indicator, and a surprisingly large proportion of them are INFPs. I wonder whether such a strong correlation of transgender people and MBTI types exists. If any of you has any interest in MBTI and knows your own MBTI type could you reply below? Also please mark if you are MtF or FtM.
Thanks.
Hi Stmoraza 🙋 Welcome to Susan's Place! I'm Jessica and I'm a transgender woman. I did that test a bit ago. I'll have to find those results again and post it.
I see you were missed with a proper greeting, so I'll post some links that may help you get better acquainted with the site, if you haven't found them already.

MTF ISTP
Hugs, Devlyn
I'm INFP. We have asked this before here and it turns out that INFPs are over represented as compared to the general population. Also, if I remember correctly the majority were INs.

ENFP if I remember correct. FtM.
Maybe my ADHD making me forcefully Extrovert. Haha
MTF.....enfj The mentor
I'm Different ISFP
MTF INFP :) Isn't that interesting.
I've tested formally once, informally a few other times. While I always seem to end up a P, I've skirted the edge of J once or twice. Unfortunately, I understand the questions too well now. I don't think I can take the test anymore without injecting confirmation bias into the results.
I took the test several months ago and was designated as INFJ, and I took the test again a few minutes ago and according to that test I'm INFJ
INFP-T
I am Male, but not MtF. More likely trying to transition to androgynous, which fits me best.

MTF, and INTJ, if I remember correctly.
I kept getting different results every time I've done that test, several years between times. So I have no idea. The only thing that was somewhat consistent was that I got the "I" (introvert) aspect more often than not. I'm FTM.
I took the 16 personality test, so I hope that is the right one. Anyways, I got the mediator which is in fact an INFP. Honestly I am not surprised though as my social anxiety dictated what answers I chose. If I did not have anxiety then the results may have been different.
I would like to note that I do not agree with the results, as some of the things it says about me would be inaccurate. In the end I do not even believe in these tests, as people do not have fixed personality's. Just because someone acts or thinks a certain way now does not mean they will within a month or a year.
According to the 16Personalities test, I'm ENFP-A.
IIRC, when I took a similar test years ago for one of my friends, I was something similar. :)
Ryuichi
I can never remember what I was in the past, but I think it was some off-shoot of what I am now, anyway.
Took the test here: https://www.16personalities.com/ (https://www.16personalities.com/)
Said I'm an INFP-T Mediator
85% introvert
77% intuitive
51% feeling
51% prospecting
61% turbulent
I think the shift in feeling and prospecting is thanks to Eryn. I DEFINITELY remember being more judging and thinking in the past.

I just looked at my percentages again, and WOW! Two of my stats are 90%!
90% Extraverted
70% Intuitive
63% Feeling
90% Prospecting
78% Assertive
The site misspelled "Extroverted." ;D
I also took the test there: https://www.16personalities.com/ (https://www.16personalities.com/)

The Meyers-Briggs test is fairly well accepted science, and the medical version is a much more thorough exam than the shortened versions available free online. Of course personalities are not set in stone.

Yeah, I remember when Adamn Ruins everything 'debunked' the test. It's still a good guide to follow. But I'm wondering how often all the types come up. I read more about the mediator and it says only 4% of the population are that, usually. That made me feel a little special, if not a bit alone lol
BUT TicTac is my sister in mediation! Must be why I enjoy her taste in music lol

21st century Kaptain Kangaroo.
I got "the Campaigner."
Don't know what the percentage of the population is that. I forgot to look. ;D

I got this:
Your test result: ENFJ – The Giver
ENFJs are rare, making up only around 2.5% of the U.S. population. This makes this personality group even more interesting, because although ENFJs are rare, they tend to be very influential without even trying.
Characteristics
You are a warm, caring, generous, people-focused person. You are a good communicator, highly intuitive, reliable and extremely organized. You are passionate and firm in your ideals and principles.
You put great emphasis on being with other people in real life, but also feel a certain detachment from reality and like to live in your own imaginations and ideas. You thrive in social situations but also need time alone to think about things.
Your heart and authentic care for other people can lead you to place others above yourself and sometimes this may lead to over-involvement in the situation of others.
And it's totally accurate! :)
I'm AMAB nb and I'm INTJ.
M2F and ENFJ-T Protagonist
Those were my results from 5 minutes ago. All my life presenting as male I was a solid introvert, this is the first time that I have tested as extrovert and I can see in in myself. Tia is happy and enjoys being with people....big change
Non transitioning trans male- ENTP
For anyone having doubts about their type, the best thing to do is to concentrate in the functions and their order. When I take the online tests I get INTP, but I use Ne as my primary function, not Ti. The tests online could be slighlt innacurate.
When I was in Grad school in 2004, I tested as INTJ with strong I and strong J.
Over the years, probably due to the nature of my job as a people leader and work I have done to change my external behavior, I moved progressively over time to weak E.
As I have gotten older, become a parent and progressed in my career. I have moved to ENTP though weak E and weak P. The move from J to P has been over the last two years so I personally attribute hormones and changes in my life situation and evolution of my values for the shift for J to P. I think I ride that edge daily and sometimes flop one way or the other.
At work we recently took the Birkman personality test which rates people along similar lines but pulls into the equation your desired behavior, demonstrates behavior and then stress behavior. I thought that was more accurate and we all display our card with those three dimensions on our desks so others know how to interact with us and what to expect. On that, my stress behavior is strong "doer" (aka, "get sh!t done", entj) and my desired and normal behavior is more strategic, planning, while also flexible to change (more like enfp). It was an interesting exercise because my boss is the opposite in most scores and as a result we compliment each other well except under stress. Then we just annoy each other and piss the other off since his stress behavior is analytical and mine is to get it done and ask questions later, fix mistakes later valuing early deliver and iterative approaches (agile, scrum) over perfection.
ENFP. I suspect I would be INFP now.
I share the some personality as Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton!
DEFENDER PERSONALITY (ISFJ, -A/-T) mtf
introverted 76%
observant 59%
feeling 58%
judging 90%
assertive 64%
...a personality of a princess - clearly I'm not the queen!
ENF? without thinking about it..
Tell me what answer you want, I'll make it so. Gotta wonder about a test like this that can be gamed so easily - even the long version.
I just did the test at
https://www.16personalities.com/ (https://www.16personalities.com/)
(I gather that 16personalities actually invented the categorisation after the hyphen, e.g the T in INFJ-T.)
I did the test once before on the poll mentioned by Dena but that poll seems to have vanished. I got INFJ-T advocate both this time and last time:
"Your personality type is:
Advocate (INFJ-t)
Mind
This trait determines how we interact with our environment.
28% Extraverted
72% Introverted
Energy
This trait shows where we direct our mental energy.
74% Intuitive
26% Observant
Nature
This trait determines how we make decisions and cope with emotions.
46% Thinking
54% Feeling
Tactics
This trait reflects our approach to work, planning and decision-making.
57% Judging
43% Prospecting
Identity
This trait underpins all others, showing how confident we are in our abilities and decisions.
46% Assertive
54% Turbulent
,
...
The Advocate personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population ..."
Although the poll to which Dena referred seems to have vanished, there is a related poll:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,172713.0.html .
Also, yesterday, Cindy drew attention to this related research:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,239707.0/topicseen.html .
I'm FtM and INTP.
