Title: 6 month HRT update
Post by: AnamethatstartswithE on February 22, 2018, 05:35:57 PM
Hello everyone, this one is a biggie, so here it goes.

First We start off with how my face is doing, These go from 3 weeks on HRT, to 3 months, to six months left to right, you can really see the difference.

(https://i.imgur.com/dp16FXX.jpg) (https://i.imgur.com/Rec3PTL.jpg) (https://i.imgur.com/hYCWLDA.jpg)

Next we can see how I look body wise, I've been curvy for a while now, I take measurements of my hips, my waist around the navel, my waist around the narrowest part, and my bust every day along with my weight. I've found that now when I have sudden weight gain, (eating too much due to travel, too many carbs etc.) it goes to my hips and chest instead of my stomach. Unfortunately when I take it off it goes away from there as well.

I'm not sure if anyone around me has noticed the changes, I've only been ma'amed once in the past month. Here is what I look like in boy mode for comparison:

My chest is growing, but very slowly. I still really don't like the way my face looks, I either look like some sort of witch or some old person. I feel like I look less feminine when I smile, though I do still look super old.
(https://i.imgur.com/2nPcBZk.jpg) (https://i.imgur.com/vkI0aku.jpg)

Now for some of the mental changes. A lot has happened with that as well. I had an odd experience a few weeks ago, I was digging through some old powerpoint slides for a presentation I needed to do, and I found a couple from when I first started working here, that really got me noticed. I decided to print them out and put them on my office wall. I looked at them and I was proud of myself. I remember thinking "wow, I'm still proud... still proud... it's not stopping!?!? ... why isn't it stopping?" I'm so used to getting down on myself shortly after feeling pride that it actually got uncomfortable for me.

I've been feeling steadily better about myself since I started HRT, but it's really kicked into high gear lately. People give me hard problems and not much time to solve them. But I can solve them, and I feel really good about it. I get excited for more. I'm not constantly qualifying it in my mind like:

"Anyone could have done that," or "you still could have done better." That's gone now, this must be what being normal feels like.

I'm going to try to talk to HR soon, so that things can be in place for when I'm ready to socially transition, but things are looking up.

It's kinda difficult to single out but I can definitely see a change, especially in your eyes. They look brighter, less deep set. And you have a wonderful female hairline. Don't be so hard on yourself because you're already looking fabulous and as months go by you'll look even better.

Thanks for sharing. I regret not taking photos at the beginning of my journey. You can see your changes over time. That is exciting.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. One other thing I didn't mention, my empathy abilities have gotten much stronger. I can read people now in a way I never could before. Before, I would read people by noticing patterns, now it's much more intuitive. It's actually kind of like having another sense.

I definitely see a softer more feminine look. With only 6 months of HRT, you are on your way.

Best wishes.

Congrats on you're 6 months
Not sure what kind of work you do,  my HR experience was amazing.

I work in medicine with multiples of different departments at three different locations which you can imagine stressed me out to the max. So far two of the three locations are competent of my transitioning status.

To my surprise ... I'm absolutely shocked people really could care less. Not sure if they're just all so self absorbed with life or they really could care less... either way it works well for me. I'm nine months into my transition and I'm getting more ma'am's interacting with my patients and on the phone.

(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180225/9e8f32c752dd2045226f8a0fa3cb0eac.jpg)And my coworkers use pronouns like it was scripted. They throw more she's and hers  out so often that  now it's become indistinguishable to them. I've never felt like anyone is making any great effort to try and be pronoun conscious.  It was if they all shrugged their shoulders and said what evs.... go on girl get you're babies taken care of. 🤱🏼

I suppose I'll attribute this to just a total overall better feeling about myself and life in general. You're making great progress girl ... smile hold you're head high and own it. Let the world be known We kick ass!!!!!

I think you really do look great already and I can see woman when you smile.

Also, when laser does it's miracle you will instantly look even better, because I can see that dark shade. Start that asap, unless you haven't started it already.

I've been doing laser since June or July. The hairs don't seem to be dying, they just get smaller and grow more slowly. I think I may need to switch to electrolysis.

It is slow going with the laser, I've heard some persons doing nearly 20 times, before about all hairs were dead  :-\

You look terrific ...  there is no mystery why you are passing !!!!  For being into your transition for only 9 months that is very good.
Your acceptance by your coworkers is what all of us here desire for ourselves.

Hello there and congrats on your progress. I really like how you look on your avatar, there is definitely a woman in the picture with a beautiful smile.

I'm on the first month and as you I intend to keep it stealth for a while, perhaps a year until I am comfortable with myself or male fail at some point, which would mean 'yep... you're ready babe!'

One question I have is: how do you conceal your boobs? I see it seems to be well hidden in your picture I've quoted. Is there any special trick?

Thank you!

I just wear a men's shirt. My boobs aren't that big, plus they are growing out almost sideways, having a wide rib cage doesn't help. I need a form fitting women's cut top to really look like I have them.

E- I think you look great, you've got some great curves coming along -I'm really impressed with your front on photo that shows an hour glass shape that's awesome.
Also I really like your closeups, I think you have a very pretty face, the only thing I would add is - you're smiling in your avatar pic - which is awesome, maybe a few more smiles in your other photos, smiling can soften a persons face and add to the 'femme'.

Sonja:
Absolutely correct... a big, beautiful and happy smile in a photo or in a personal encounter can go a long way in passing.  A smile is disarming to most onlookers and many times don't look past the smile.

So I guess this is the part of being female where people constantly tell me to smile more 😉.

Anyway thanks, this is an older update, my most recent one is here:
