I'm currently 17-years-old and I have been on bicalutamide (T-blocker) for 2 months. I've talked about this blocker lightly in previous posts, but oh well. Anyways, there's a good chance I will be starting on estrogen (finally) between March and April. My dysphoria seems to worsen everyday, and it's a rollercoaster of angst and emotion and self-hatred and a whole slew of other toxic things.
Moving on: I have a good idea that estrogen will help "cure" the dysphoria in my brain-or at least, help me feel more feminine on an internal basis (regardless of my age). However, since I am 17, will starting HRT at this "late" of an age be beneficial to my body? I don't have a beard (THANK GOD, KNOCK ON WOOD)--just some light sideburns and a slight baby-fuzz dark mustache. The blocker I'm on is "designed" for cancer patients, but it also takes the excess testosterone in your body and turns it into estrogen. I already have stretch marks and sore breasts, but I still look and feel the same.
What I'm basically trying to ask is: should I feel bad about starting HRT at 17? Should I have started earlier? Will me results be good? Will I be passable? I know most of these questions are subjective, but I'd just like an idea. Is there anyone out there that started HRT around my age? What are your results?
Thanks,
Fleurgirl
Hi Fleurgirl! I wish I could have started when I was 17. You should expect good results.
A particular girl named Julia1996 started young and has made some great posts about her transition. She could probably be of great help. Along with she is a hoot!
Thanks, Jessica. I think I've met/chatted with Julia1996 on here a few times!
I started at 43! Starting at 17 is not late. You'll turn out great without the problems you get starting later.
You're a lucky girl, starting so young means greater chances to be beautiful and passable. Don't worry, you'll be fine :)

Hi, Fleur.
OMG, I am so jealous. You will be starting HRT so
young!!! You are so lucky! I started at 61 (yes, old enough to be your grandma), and I like the effects on my body. You will be fine. Starting at such a young age, E will have much more effect on you.
Thanks for the reassurance, ladies!
