Title: Just Start HRT! (yesterday)
Post by: EvaT on March 06, 2018, 11:57:56 AM
A day late but yesterday I got my blood results. The doctor told me the results were perfect, except my estrogen level. He told me very excitedly that my estrogen level was a little higher than most males, which also made my day, and think  I was meant to be a woman. The same day he prescribed me a high dose of Estradiol and a low dose of Spiro, since it may make me have low blood pressure. but will up it if it doesn't.

I can't wait to see the changes HRT will bring me!

@ EvaT:   This is all very exciting.... starting HRT will bring big changes to your body, but bear in mind that what you read about other's HRT results and their transition timeline may not be typical for you and your body.   Nothing happens really quickly so you need patience, these things can not be rushed, in fact, there is evidence if things are rushed with higher doses than the doctor prescribes that it can actually hamper breast growth and other body changes.  That is why medically supervised HRT is not only the SAFE choice but also the best choice.  Your doctor will continue to do regular blood tests and adjust dosages accordingly throughout your HRT regimen.
Wishing you well in your transition.... and looking forward to your updates.   (and pics?)

If you do start feeling lightheaded it's most likely the spiro as it causes your body to dump water and salt.  If it happens you can fix it by eating more salt and drinking more fluids.

@ Deborah:   Ahhh, yes, SALT.  Ever since I started HRT which includes Spiro ... I have had salt cravings... pickles, green olives, pretzels, and salt on things I wouldn't normally put salt on...  I just can't get enough and sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night to make a potty stop and then go to the fridge and get a pickle to eat... at 2 AM !!!!
Yes... on Spiro and HRT, one needs to be sure to stay hydrated...  I drink lots of water... then that leads to frequent potty stops of course,  but the hydration keeps your blood and your organs flushed of nasty toxins.  Lots of water and fluids!!!

LOL.  My taste for salt has grown so much that if I fix my wife some food and salt it to my taste she finds it nearly inedible.

As impatient as I might be, I'll do everything by the books, since it's my life that is on the line. I did take a few pictures last night but I'll post them once I'm a little more comfortable with my body :).  Thanks I can't wait to share my updates of all the changes of HRT!

Oh god, I already crave salt as it is. specially salt and vinegar chips. If I eat any more salt I'll probably turn into a giant salt and vinegar chip
