Hey Gals,
So it's officially been one month and 1/4 on HRT (woohoo!). I was also told that my levels are within female range which seems quick to me. So far I've noticed softer skin and some breast changes but nothing else really. My libdo has definitely reduced but erections are still possible and fluid has reduced but there's still a fair amount.
I'm a bit worried that I won't see anymore reduction in the genital area and that I'll still have fluid during the big O. I
know it's only been about a month and I should be excited to even have breast development (Pretty sure I feel breast buds) but it just seems sooo slow and I'm just worried that I won't see a few things that I think I really need to "pass". Decent fat facial changes, muscle reduction in arms, legs, neck (oh god the neck....).
For those of you who have already gone through HRT for a few months what are your thoughts?
Thanks :)
Big hug! Give the girl juice time to work its magic. You're going to get the same five year puberty a teenage girl gets...missy!
Hugs, Devlyn
Buckle up :)
What you are describing is pretty similar to me. At seven months, yeah it takes work to get an erection and virtually nothing comes out. You'll be fine! Just give it some time and hang in there.
Well a few months isn't much at all. I expect very little and try to work on my wardrobe, shoes, skin, nails and hair. These are things I can improve on myself. Hrt might never make me the girl I've always envisioned myself to be... but maybe with surgery I can try.

Clairetheanalytical: This all very exciting.... for certain, HRT will bring big changes to your body, but bear in mind that what you read about other's HRT results and their transition timeline may not be typical for you and your body. Nothing happens really quickly so you need patience, these things can not be rushed, in fact, there is evidence if things are rushed with higher doses than the doctor prescribes that it can actually hamper breast growth and other body changes. That is why medically supervised HRT is not only the SAFE choice but also the best choice. Your doctor will continue to do regular blood tests and adjust dosages accordingly throughout your HRT regimen.
Again, nothing happens really fast but you will see small changes rather quickly like with your initial breast changes... and then more will be happening in it's own time... again
patience is needed. To see significant fat facial changes, muscle reduction in arms, legs, neck.... it may take more time.
For me: In my HRT history it wasn't until
at and after the 1st year that I saw some of this stuff happening like some muscle loss in arms and legs, some loss of libido, and somewhat diminished erections, BUT it was
not until the start and middle of my 3rd year of HRT that significant and noticeable body hair reduction and face changes became evident and the other changes became more significant..... But again... every body reacts differently. Obviously if you are a little overweight you won't see dramatic curves developing.
Wishing you well in your transition, and looking forward to your updates. (and more pics as things progress?)

Thanks everyone :). I'm still closeted in public and at work, I'm likely staying that way until I have enough changes to feel confident... So I really hope that at least within the first few months I get some changes. I'd hate to wait years :/. Kinda scared that the day will never come though... I've started HRT but makeup, clothing etc is still VERY new to me too.... long way to go :embarrassed:
I totally understand. I'm waiting for changes to happen that make it more awkward to present male rather than female.
Happy I'm not the only one... To be really honest I don't even feel like a girl at all :/. I think to most people I work with it's going to be a shock just because of my behavior.. I want to feel and act more feminine but I also want it to be natural not over the top and forced. I know there's no one way to be feminine and those who do know keep saying just be yourself but it's hard when you don't think you'll be able to "pull it off".
Ugh one day at a time but I can't help but think ahead, I really hope this ends well... All I know is right now if I stopped HRT I'd likely feel down and like I'm missing out. I don't think I'd be able to stop thinking about it. So I guess it's the right choice? :/

This made me giggle Devlyn . Thanks :-*
You brought up a good point "I don't feel like one".
I tend to question myself in that respect sometimes, will try a little make-up, polish, earrings, but not into dressy girly stuff all the much.
I mentioned this to my speech therapist saying I think I'm kind of a tomboy type girl as I am definitely not into men and getting all made up is something that I probably won't go overboard with.
I try to remind myself that this is a corrective journey that I'm taking to fix something that should have been fixed a very long time ago. Knowing that and dealing with the memories of all that I have had to deal with in my life prior to coming to terms with my gender is an adventure in itself. A slow one which sometimes messes up my adrenal rush addiction.
