Title: 1 Month HRT Questions
Post by: billyjeans on March 13, 2018, 10:28:04 PM
Hello, just about to be at 5 weeks tomorrow. I'm mtf, and the first few weeks were mostly bliss, but then I really crash about Tuesday, sometimes for days. Moody, irritable, exhausted, weepy. This week it started on Sunday. Emotionally all over the place since then with only a few hours respite. People say I look tan?  Have I been on vacation?  No, well a permanent vacation in some respects yes, but no extra sun. Ok girls, can I assume, "this too shall pass?" And I'll level out eventually, or am I having some kind of PMS every week?  I took a two hour nap after work and then cried on and off until bed. I can never cry, now I have real tears.

Hi Billy's Jeans!

I've been on HRT for a little over two months now.  While I haven't had any issues with crying, every so often the evil man dude rears his ugly head but it passes.

For a week or so I also seemed to be overly tired but I think that's passed.

The tan comments probably come from your cheeks being a little more "rosey" which I've experienced -comes and goes.

Hang in there!

You may want to have your estrogen levels adjusted I have been on hrt almost a year and I get emotional more often and easier but, nothing like that. Generally unless they are off does it cause problems. So ask your doctors opinion on this. Your mood should be fairly stable still, unless it wasn't before. Good luck!

Hello Billyjeans

It appears you started HRT the day before me.

The only issue you mention that I have personally experienced is feeling more tired but not to your extent.

I am sure it will pass for us both as Cassi says.

I wish you every happiness on your journey.

Been on E since the first of the year and anti androgens since last year. I was getting slightly emotional later in the year but now I can cry at the drop of a hat. Usually during conversations with loved one. It's not something I can't handle but for someone that had 0 emotions all there other life it is hugely moving to feel this way

Thank you for all your help. There are a few other things going on, like divorce, and some depression and anxiety. As I plan to transition at work I'm really getting scared. So maybe it is all from just a combination of things, I was just wondering what factor the HRT plays in this, but then one can't really know anyway.

Well I can say for me the antiandrogen last year started to make some difference with anger and aggression but the hormones opened the other emotional world to me.

Hey, girly!

I'm only on bicalutamide but a decent amount of estrogen has naturally been occurring in my system. You're only one month in, so your hormone levels are still probably all over the show! I'm not a doctor or a nurse, but I think once you're on HRT for a while longer your moods will begin leveling out. I also got super emotional when my estrogen levels initially went up, but I was also emotional before--minus the crying.

Good luck with your transition!! Woot!!
