Swampscott Public Schools Superintendent Pamela Angelakis said Thursday 52-year-old Shannon Daniels will be placed on paid administrative leave for the rest of the school year, and her contract will not be renewed.

Angelakis declined to comment further.

It doesn't say, although it implies, the reason behind her job loss.  Since it is Massachusetts I would think she has some recourse if she was fired simply for being trans.

It will be interesting to see if either side moves from the no comment camp.

When organizations do this type of stuff and they're, at least on the surface, liberal places, I'm surprised they go there. It's like the lawsuits against amazon and other companies that have liberal policies corporately, but they'd rather stand behind bad local management than make it right. There's always a choice being made and often it's the wrong one. Sounds like the Superintendent is more concerned about her job based on parental complaints, but she's opened herself up for a different kind of ->-bleeped-<-storm.
