I'm on my 40's and have been on HRT for about 2 1/2 years. (There's a whole story behind that..ill explain on a different post)
Anyways, I'm not out publicly. I don't know when I'll be ready either. However, lately -for the last year or so, I've been yearning to tell my kids. One is 22, the other one 15.
When I started with the meds, my wife told me not to mention anything unless I was ready to go publicly, but I feel as if I'm lying to them..as if I'm deceiving them somehow.
When is the right time to tell them...?

It sounds like the time is now.... If you feel that you're being dishonest to the very ones you love...
Then you have already made up you're mind. As soon as you do this... You will blossom into that person that is so desperately trying to get out...
Talk it over with your wife and make a plan... Living in a cage isn't life... You deserve to be free... The door is in front of you...

I know the people who care about me most in life all said the same thing when I came out: "I wish you were able to tell me sooner."
I'm very blessed to have people around who reacted very well to me coming out - nobody close left my life when I came out and all wanted to be supportive. But if they weren't going to be supportive, they were going to have to leave my life at some point anyhow, I'd just be delaying the inevitable if I didn't deal with it.
Each of us is different, maybe if your asking the question it may be your mind telling you it's time.
I started transitioning on my own keeping it to myself. This past December I came out to my wife.
Oh wow, can you say crap enough. We are working it out. I started E at the beginning of January and started deessing in female cloths at the beginning of February. Beginning of March I decided to go full time but still have short hair. Two weeks ago I got my wig and on Monday Doug stayed Home and Donna has been out ever since.
My wife's family found out in late January and my family found out last Friday.
Work is great and 💯 % behind me. I got my first ma'am this week. For me it was time and I needed it.
