Title: Looking in the mirror
Post by: gothique11 on December 22, 2007, 10:19:16 PM
I know few people in here go on youtube (and yes, I know some people in here despise trans-youtube community, so don't watch, comment, and do something else with your time); however, I was inspired by this video. I haven't been feeling very good recently, but I liked watching this video and it touched me.

PS my vids are just me usually being silly and weird, but there are a lot of amazing people in the youtube-trans community and I've really been inspired watching people as they've changed. It's even weirder that people have wrote me and told me that I inspired them, despite my silliness and how awful I think my videos are.

Hi, Natalie, and thank you for sharing that video with me.  I know exactly how the girl in the video feels.  What I have is what the world sees, like it or not.  She is one who has "opened on guts," exactly the way I did it.

You are as beautiful as you feel.

wow!  the most wonderful thing about this forum is seeing that there are people who have the same feelings and struggle with the same issues that i do.  wonderful video. :'(

i was at my brothers for a christman dinner last night. im kind of "out/in" to him... he knows some of my past and he is wonderful about it. anyway i knew that i was a woman while i was there, knew how i looked in my minds eye. i wasnt "overplaying" it.  anyway, im sitting on the sofa and his girlfriend goes to the bathroom. the door has a mirror mounted on the outside and when it shut i could see myself sitting on the sofa. just my brothers brother. funny how seeing yourself can hurt so much.

Natalie.
Thanks once again for posting a somehting that I needed to watch, that was so inspiring, as I have been not feeling very good lately myself, and that was a nice reminder of how to truly look at ourselves, and to use those positive affirmation which I know are very important to me and they do work. Hope you are feeling better.
Hugz,
Ariana

Thanks Natalie for posting the vid.  She looks very similar to myself, I connected so much with what she was saying.  The soft green eyes, yes they are mine, the strong chin and nose, they are mine.  Have my own long hair though, which she will have in due course.  Made me kinda sad, always having to remind myself of what I am inside, sometimes I can project very well, other times I cannot.  :(

I would venture to say that we "get" this and no one else could ever hope to comprehend.

It's really too bad that more of the binaries can not see past their narrow view to make an attempt at understanding.

Some say that a leopard never changes it's spots. Well, whomever came out with that saying couldn't be more wrong.

One steps out of their binary and venture into the next, not because of the excitement of the adventure but as a survival tactic.  I believe you will find that a person's attitude and personality can be greatly changed by the transitioning hormone that they are taking. It can be one of the most wonderful experiences you can have in your lifetime. Or it could be a nightmare if you are not ready for what is involved in order transform your iife.
