Title: Hello, I'm Caroline
Post by: Caroline Wolf on March 30, 2018, 02:31:57 AM
Hi all,

Let me introduce myself. I'm a 50 year old transsexual mtf living in Sweden. I'm married to a cis-woman since 15 years and we have three kids together. I'm highly educated and have enjoyed a successful corporate carreer in the financial services industry, where I'm now the CEO of a smaller financial insitution in a larger conglomerate.

I've been struggling with dysphoria since puberty and dealt with crossdressing ever since. I've gone through purging cycles over the years and stigmatized my feminine feelings a lot. Looking back at my life, it feels that my male persona has been a role that I have played, and that I have never been authentic to myself.

It was actually my wife that called me out when she saw me epilating my legs and started dressing in semi-feminine clothing in my spare time. When my wife asked me for the second time "would you rather be a girl", I had to admit "maybe I should look into it and seek professional advice".

Well, a year and a half down the road, I'm progressing well on my path of tranistioning. It has not been easy for any of us involved, but I truly feel it is the only thing for me to do. My wife and I still love each other and we will continue to be married, stay in the same house and raise our children together, but our love will be more platonic. As a solution, we have also became polyamorous, meaning that we are both free to seek other romantic relationships outside our marriage. My wife has now a serious male partner who will actually move into our quite big house. I get along very well with him, and we will live as three adults and three kids in the house.

In my transition journey, I've recently started laser hair removal in my face and on my arms, and I'm having professional voice training. HRT is planned for the fall, and my full 24/7 transition is also planned for the fall. As I have a rather exposed professional job, I'm putting great effort in personal style and a good quality wardrobe. I'm happy to share pictures once I figure out to get such posting priviliges.

Hugs
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

Welcome!

We have several members from the Scandinavian countries and I have to admit I could not be further away as I am in Adelaide in South Australia.

Lovely to have you here and please join in to the conversations. I've included links to rules and advice on how to manage your account here.

Thank you for the very kind introductions from all of you!

I have tried my best to browse around all the subforums here, but it feels kind of overwhelming, and I don't know where to hang out. Given that I am an mtf ts who has just started transitioning, and that most of my issues will be around the transitioning process, in which subforums would I be most likely to find likeminded?

Hi Caroline & Welcome,

I've been on HRT a little less than 3 months.  One nice thing here that you don't have to limit yourself to a specific thread or post, or group (for the most part).

Information is pretty much freely given except nothing regarding actual dosage and where to buy non-prescribed stuff.

I tend to have a weird sense of humor at times or maybe just no sense :)  But you should just feel free to jump right in.  Before you know it, it will seem like you've been here forever :)

Welcome to Susan's Place. If you want answers to a specific question, it's best to locate a board related to that topic. If we find a post in the wrong area, we will move it to the correct area for you and you will find a bread crumb leading you to the new location.

Should you just want to get a feel for the community, much of the posting takes place in Transgender Talk (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,4.0.html) if it's related to transgender topics while General discussion (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,77.0.html) is good for non transgender topics.

The Recent Topics button in the upper right hand corner of the screen is also good at giving you a feel for what others are discussing. As for me, I have posted in many areas of the site as I often find threads I feel I have something to contribute.
