Title: Hello all New here
Post by: Shdwrunner on March 30, 2018, 12:46:06 PM
Hello all, my name is Martin.  I live in Illinois.  I am married.  I am a recovering sex addict.  I have talked with my wife and marriage counselor about having my testicles removed, bilateral orchiectomy to lower and or simply eliminate my sex drive/libido.  My wife is supportive and all for it especially with the side effects of having a bilateral orchiectomy.  Our marriage counselor is supportive of it as well.  I have done my research about it honestly looking forward to that calming effect I have read a lot of people talking about.  Any who, through my research of what to expect, the pros and cons of the procedure a lot of links were coming up about sex offenders, prostate cancer, and Male to female transgender.   So, no I am NOT a sec offender, and I do not have prostate cancer.  As I continued to research my thought process was also thinking, castration removes testosterone in the body, some places I have researched mentioned how the human body does need some source of hormone to prevent certain things that would occur in the body.  I didnt want to take testosterone because I feel that would be taking a huge step back so figured since I am out of the reproductive gene pool might as well continue moving forward and choose the female hormone replacement therapy.  Keep in mind I am still a man.  I have talked with my wife who again is still very supportive.  As she mentioned, she has a low sex drive to begin with, and says that we are true soul mates, that we can please one another to a sexual climax in other ways.  That this shows you (me) it is purely love we have between us that keeps us together.  I am 45 by the way.  So that is a snippet of me and who I am, what I will be doing down the road.  Also wonder if there are other recovering sex addicts who have gone down and or chosen the same path as I am embarking on.
