Title: FTM transman top surgery UK?
Post by: andy9248 on April 02, 2018, 12:32:09 PM
Hi just wondering how much does chest surgery hurt (double incision) is what I will have. I am generally quite good at handling pain...I used to have extreme bad monthly pain and I mean extremely bad...vomiting and felt like my womb was dropping off...(I think I have endometriosis) so anyway on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not a lot of pain and 10 being extremely painful) how painful was your chest post surgery? What kind of pain was it? Would you say it was painful or just uncomfortable? Also, is anyone here going to David Ross in the UK or has anyone been to him? Thanks.

Ranged from about 1-3 on the scale, mostly 1 the first week. Didn't need anything stronger than a couple of paracetamol. Never needed the morphine they had on hand in the hospital, it was more vaguely uncomfortable than painful.

had a box of codeine in the house for it I never had to use. Honestly I've had headaches that bothered me more than this.

There was practically zero pain the first 3 days since all the nerves are cut. When they start reconnecting there are random twinges of faint pain where the incisions are occasionally.

Skin is sensitive and shivering from cold feels weird when it spreads to that area where your nerves are recovering. That's about it imo
