I'd love to hear from anyone who has had experiences with Dr. Maercks for MTF SRS. I can't seem to find any patient stories online from an MTF.
I'm interested in his procedure that does not apparently use a scrotal graft, but uses a scrotal flap instead. But I don't want to be someone's lab experiment, and not finding MTF SRS reviews / experiences frankly scares me.
If anyone knows of other USA surgeons that, when using the scrotal tissue for part of the vaginal canal, use flaps and not grafts (I.E. the tissue's blood and nerves are not severed). I know years ago this was being done in London, but I'm specifically looking for USA surgeons.
There are 71 reviews for him on Healthgrades alone. A quick scan shows several happy MTF GRS patients, and a 4.3 out of 5 average rating.

My name is Sasha and I am one of Dr. Maercks delighted patients. My Surgery was last year in September. I am just so happy with the results. Both in functionality and aesthetically. He is such a wonderful and comfortable doctor to speak with and his staff is absolutely amazing.
Now, having the surgery and recovering from SRS is journey. I am 50 years old and I do not heal as quickly as I did when I was a spring chick. BUT, from the many stories I have read, I faired VERY well. There was almost no pain and I was pleasantly surprised. The catheter was the worst aspect of post surgery recovery which I understand is reflected in nearly every experience.
The most chilling portion of SRS for me were of all the dilation tales I read about. At least the ones that went into details. ALL girls must dilate 3 times a day with moderate to high levels of pain. Most surgeons use the grafting technique while my hero uses the scrotal flap instead. Dr. Maercks has modified it to his own style and that has gifted me with a depth of 9". Awesome. After 5 weeks, I only had to dilate twice a day instead of three.. Super duper!!! How amazing is that! Most girls do not get to that stage until at least 6 months to a year! A few weeks after that I began dilating ONCE a day. Crazy... I am now 9 months post surgery and I dilate about 3 times a week.
My nerve endings began awakening fairly soon and had my first orgasm 6 weeks after surgery. It literally blew my mind. It felt amazing! I say Dr. Maercks has cracked the code on SRS.
After a couple of months I had my 2nd surgery which was the labiaplasty. Once again, this is why I chose Dr. Maercks because not only is he a surgeon, he is an artist. My vagina is so beautiful I am going to enter her into the Miss Universe contest ;)
