Hello everybody,
I'm in my early 60's and if you asked me two months ago whether I was considering transitioning, I would have said, "What"? I had been so repressed that the notion that I was a transwoman was nowhere to be seen, mainly because I am a large, tall professional of many years standing. I never thought of myself as anything but a man, but looking back, I see all sorts of signs over the years. My children are grown, I divorced for reasons that I thought were unrelated to trans, but now I'm not so sure...
I've been doing nbe for about a month, now, but I already had moobs. And last night I wore a bra out in public for the first time, to hear a friend play music.
This is the beginning of my journey, and I have a lot to figure out; I might ask a lot of questions here. I know this is a welcoming place, though.

Hi Bibi :icon_wave:
Welcome to Susan's Place :) Glad to have you here, join on in the fun
Hugs

Thanks so much for the welcome!
First steps: my insurance will cover my HRT stage. Also found an informed consent provider but they are booked until late summer. Have a PCP appointment for something else Monday, and will ask for the necessary authorization for the HMO then. Meantime, I wore a bra at my professional job for the first time today, and no one noticed. Nearly a B and my nipples are waking up ;-):
So many things to address. My 35 year old beard. Growing out my hair. Clothes, shoes. Shoes! Foundation garments. Oh this is complicated!
Hard to figure out what I will end up with, so which clothes do I buy now and which do I wait til later?
I need a girlfriend to advise me....
Exciting days.
Welcome Bibi! Congrats on embracing your true self! It is a lot to figure out for sure but it sounds like you are very excited. Once you are ready you can go to a make up counter like MAC or whatever you choose and have them teach you how to apply make up. For something more discreet you can get a Mary Kay or Avon person to do your make up and help you find the right products for you in the comfort of your home. Also there are some great youtube tutorials out there to help you figure out fashion, make up, walking in heels (I'm cis woman and that is how I learned :) ),and anything else you can think of. If I can help you out with anything along your path to discovering your style let me know.
