In breaking news weather system @Devlyn recently swept into the UK bringing clear skies, hot weather and fabulousness!
In an all-too-brief visit, Devlyn braved airline food and TSA scanners to visit Old England; just like her familiar New England but with more 'old sh*t'. Knowing of her ability to decimate entire chocolate pies, and afraid of what might happen if her sugar demands were not met, I prepared in advance for her visit.

On Friday, after a a brief recovery from her long journey, I played tour guide and hosted my beautiful girl on a walking tour of the metropolis of Biggleswade. We followed this up with the innagural first BBQ of the year, which as tradition dictates, involved vastly too much meat and far too little of anything else.

Saturday, we visited London on an epic 20km foot tour of the city and sights. I should make it absolutely clear that at no point was Devlyn a tourist! Despite visiting Parliment, Big Ben, Camden Lock, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Spittalfields market, St James's Park, Green Park, the Southbank Centre, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, China Town and Covent Garden; and taking pictures at, with or of most of them.

Sunday, Devlyn introduced me to the highly addictive sport(?) of geocaching, which involved us romping across the countryside, trying and failing to look inconspicuous while getting injured by folliage. Lunch at a lovely local mill & cafe renewed our energies for more 'caching in the afternoon.
Monday, and as she'd been begging me for some time, I finally relented and agreed that the Queen could meet Devlyn. We travelled to Windsor Castle for a tour of some really really old sh*t. Sadly the Queen had to pop out (something about 'state business'), but she'd left one of her odd looking minions to look after us.

Sadly, what then followed was something that neither Devlyn or I wanted, her return home. Cue an emotional farewell, but one at the end of a truly magical weekend; she brought the sun with her and truly warmed my heart. X
Awwww! Thank you so much for sharing, Megan! What a great weekend together!
You two look like you had way too much fun. Good thing you stocked up on treats.
Glad a good time was had by all and the rest of us can be jealous. Lol
Glad you both did so much in such a short time.
I see that even at Windsor Palace, there is now a barrier in front of the sentries. I heard that the reason sentries were moved inside the fence at Buckingham Palace was that while tourists were taking pics, the sentries would whisper to them, demanding that they roll up paper money and put it down their rifle barrels.
When I last saw St James Palace, the sentries were still on the outside and there were no barriers, although there was a policeman guarding the guardsmen. That was probably more than a decade ago, though, and things may have changed.
Awww - so cute! Thanks for sharing! So happy you two had such a nice weekend together and I hope a lot more will come.
You forgot to prepare a place to lock her up so she cannot escape from your beautiful island :-)
Many hugs to both of you!
Let me join in the "awwwwwww crowd" and say the cake looked delicious. I'm sure that citified ruffian felt right at home not playing tourist in those old populous places filled with foreign history. I am glad you two were able to get together once again. I know how enjoyable those reunions can be. It looks like the two of you made the most of her visit.
Hugs,
Laurie
Awwwww, look at you two love birds. I am so happy for you both. I am curious, London is full of all kinds of dungeons right? Surely you could have found some way of restraining your girl from escaping! [emoji16]
I'm glad you had a great weekend. BTW, that cake looks yummy!

So near and yet so far---------------
What fun! Good thing she wasn't being a tourist, or there's no telling how many sites you'd have had to visit. Too bad the queen had to pop out.

I'm not saying they're related but it rained before Devlyn arrived, and started again when she left. [emoji4]

I am certain that they must be related :-*
I'm surprised you both were not invited to visit the new Royal. Devlyn being an official Boston Monarchist and all  <I'd better go hide>

"London pea soup fog"........we been lied to, I tells ya! They did tie their clock down pretty tight, must have thought I was going to steal it!
I had a fantastic time and did not want to leave.
I climbed aboard that plane with tear stains on my cheeks. :'(
But Megan and England haven't seen the last of me. :)
Hugs, Devlyn

I believe there was some foreign bard over the pond that penned the words " Parting is such sweet sorrow" or was it "Et tu Brute?" perhaps it was "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" English Lit was never my strong point.
Oh! Oh! Oh! I think is was "Tie me kangaroo down sport"
Hugs,
Laurie

You are thinking of the other part of the British colony, the really big island on the under side of the globe! [emoji16] There be kangaroos everywhere round these parts

What fun! So happy for the two of you!
Awesome! So happy for you both, despite the shortness of the visit. I am disappointed though, that you'd rather have high tea with Her Highness rather than visit the Shuttleworth Collection in your own backyard. Well, there's no accounting for the tastes of monarchists...

We almost hit Shuttleworth as there are some geocaches there, but I'm sure we'll get there [emoji4].

Dev, I'm envious, I adore Londinium ... I'd have a beer recommendation had I known you were weather borne?? to the UK (I suspect Boeing or Airbus were involved with transport).
Many moons ago I was over there and saw southern UK temps in the '90s, Glasgow pushing the mercury to 80 and bright sunshine on the peaks of the lakes district.
Aww that looks so fun. So cool that's use went ahead and met up.
I will hopefully be in England this year for a few of the bigger Supra meets, would love to meet someone.
I hate the fact that I don't have one trans friend in real life. Think it's cool to have someone who truly relates
