After my surgery April 12, I was released and home two days later,my mom called 911 I became unresponsive,in the Dr my heart stopped beating, and they cut my clothes off, from surgery I got blood clots in my lungs and almost died, I was in ICU for a week and regular hospital another week, now I'm on blood thinners and pain medicine, Dr.MacPhee did an excellent job on me,but it almost killed me.get tested for blood clots before surgery,my surgery caused my blood clots,Dr.MacPhee called, texted, came to the hospital and to my mom's house to help me check on me and removed some stitches, she has been in contact with my doctor's and kept contact to keep an eye on my progress,in ICU they said her work was amazing.
I'm glad you're still with us and your results turned out really well. It's unfortunate about the blood clotting. This is a fear for all of us and thank you for sharing. Hopefully your experience can help others avoid a sudden death, as you have.
What are the blood clot tests?

I was in intensive care with 2 IVs in one arm and a third in the other, I was given hepron several bags and currently waiting to enter blood results from yesterday, I may have to have a blood transfusion... dealing with the pain of surgery and I had skin taken from my abdominal área, and getting my heart and lungs back healthy and dialator, ice, ice, ice, it's hell.
I am so sorry to hear you are in pain and dealing with such an unexpected setback. Sounds like your mom literally saved your life making that phone call, and your surgeon has been attentive and helping get you back on track.
The pain and inconvenience will improve and then disappear over time.
Big hug.
All things considered, Dr MacPhee must be pretty amazing to have done as much as she done afterwards to help, that's a rare thing.
Glad you are safe now!
I am so sorry this happened to you. Things like this are rare but are possible. I had a potentially life threatening situation after my FFS. It is very scary and makes you appreciate the ER personnel. Please take care of yourself. I hope you have a quick recovery.

Get well soon! MY SRS and recovery were pretty much trouble free, but I remember when there were some concerns about my friend not breathing right a few hours after her SRS. It was a pretty scary situation (I was at the hospital when my friend had her surgery), as was yours.
Ellen,
Fingers crossed for your recovery.
