Title: Nose indecisiveness.
Post by: Rachel_Christina on May 04, 2018, 12:23:39 PM

No but in all seriousness, should I consider a nose job?
It feels like a long man nose to me, especially from the side.
I am very afraid of surgery of any kind so that is what has kept me making rash decisions. Sometimes I'm fine with it. But if I get down that's when I nit pick. D:

I don't see any man at all. It's slopped in a feminine way- which is what I want for my nose. I think you're very pretty.

That looks fine and feminine to me , I know some ladies with much bigger conks than yours and TBH your looks in proportion to the rest of your beautiful face.

Do you guys think??
I always figure that long straight nose was very manly. It's like my dad's nose.
Typical of the females on my dad's side to have this long type nose and face though D: :o

Your nose is a bit longer than a "typical" woman's nose, but we can't all look like Barbie.  It is well within the range of female noses, and it is a nice shape: the shape is all feminine.  I have seen cis women with much larger noses.

If you are afraid of surgery, I would suggest skipping that one.  You don't need it.

I have always thought you are so cute (abd I am jealous...LOL).  I personally don't think you should change a thing!!  I have watched you and like others have said, I see absolutely nothing masculine!  I hate you!!  [emoji9][emoji9]

Thank you Paula, sometimes you just get those days when you feel negative? And of course this place really helps when that happens.
Thank you too Skylar.
And thanks Kathy too, for me it's kind of the tip of it that bothers me, the nostril area kind of turns down towards the tip and I feel they are quite long? I'm lucky my nose is not wide so from the front it's relatively fine.
I'm just abit paranoid

Please don't! Well of course it's up to you, but you're truly beautiful and natural. I think it's a misconception that all cis women have tiny super thin noses. And you have a gorgeous profile!

Oh Rachel, I know those days all too well!  I have been going through that a lot lately.  Keep your chin up and I know that you know it, but this is a GREAT place for support!

Please don't, you look perfect the way you are. As someone who has been consulting plastic surgeons these past couple of months, here's what they all told me: No nose is perfect, and nobody heals and scars the same, so even if you go to super skilled surgeon, there's a small chance you won't get the result you imagine because of scarring/your biology/other complications...I was also considering a nose job but they were very honest, and I decided against it, I don't want to ruin my face. If it isn't broken don't fix it!

I think it is totally fine and feminine with regard to passing, but if it's something that bothers you and you don't like looking at in the mirror then you should totally do something about it!

No, you should not have rhinoplasty.  If you do, your nose is going to look "done" and it may end up looking too small for the rest of your face.

Now my big huge Roman honker with the downward hook and the uneven tip should absolutely be done, but Kaiser's FFS guy is refusing, so I'm going to have to start raising money for a Beverly Hills nose job.

No No No.  Your nose is perfect!  Its sounds like a cliche but it fits your face wonderfully.  Its similar to my nose.  And your philtrum is nicely proportioned.  I agree you don't need to change a thing.  I'm jealous too!

Rachel, I'm going to agree with everyone, you have a lovely face from any angle. Your nose might be on the larger size for the "ideal" feminine but your whole face comes together as completely female. Your chin is not long or protruding. It all lines up quite nicely.

We all see things we would like to be different in ourselves. Sometimes we look a little too close.

Thank you all so much for your useful input.
I guess you guys are right, maybe I am just picking too much, most days it doesn't bother me, just the off days where I get caught up on things you know?
It's true I could go had and get a job done on it and have massive scaring or weird stuff happen, I guess I should just be happy with it.
Thank you all again, you guys have got me out of my nose rut for now D:

This is very true too, I have seen people complaining about how they had there faces ruined with surgery. They complain about surgeons but in the end of the day, our body's natural way of healing is an unknown for the doctor. It can greatly hinder a plastic surgeons work, or any other doctor for that matter. Dangerous territory it is

This right here-->
QuoteI think it's a misconception that all cis women have tiny super thin noses.

Noses come in all shapes and sizes on males & females and everything in between & on the fringes.  I certainly don't like mine and would LOVE to change it.  But it is how it is.

I think yours looks great!  You have a killer look.  I wouldn't change it.  Plus the risks of surgery and post-op complications etc.

Well. I don't know that picking will make it bigger, it's not very mannerly though in any case. I'd consider refraining from such activity.

seriously, I'm glad you're listening to the feedback. I've never seen in any of your photos a need for a change, nose or otherwise.

Yes. Plastic surgery is for self-satisfaction, and you are the one who is the most critical on you face.
Men tend to have a bigger nose than women, but people are all different.

Here in my country, S. Korea, plastic surgery is popular, but those faces look unnatural to my eyes. I have heard that my nose is too big, but I just accept it. One of my friends, a GP, once told me that, in Seoul, the success of any plastic surgeon is largely determined by the appraisal made by m2f transgender girls who are infamous for being extremely picky on the surgery results, usually repeating the surgery.

Unique beauty is what you have better pursuit.

So it's best to go with people who have had surgeries and their recommendations? That makes sense but I'm just wondering what you mean by "the success of any plastic surgeon"? Success can be different things so I'm wondering if it's in terms of achievable and desirable results. Thanks[emoji4]

You know it. For doctors, plastic surgery is to earn money, not to cure people. Most doctors here endure their hardship to earn money and sustain their family. Plastic surgery is very profitable, as national health insurance does not cover it. And business competition among plastic surgeons is very high.

So I was gonna say that I think it looks cute and is perfectly fine in the shape it is, but it looks like plenty of people have already said that. :p

But I agree with them.

Thank you all for the input, it really helps. I can kinda put the nose thing to rest. Its overall good by everyone here's thoughts and my mum lol.
I know it can come back to bother me on days I feel a little negative. But I just have to remember what you guys told me on days like that.
Thank you all again, Love Rachel

Don't get me wrong on this. I'm really falling in love with my new nose...but here's what people don't tell you...I KNOW I had a nose job. So I will probably always take compliments on it with a grain of salt.

A naturally beautiful nose like yours doesn't need a scalpel. If mine wasn't Barbara Streisand meets Kassem G before, I'd prefer a natural look. Keep your beautiful nose. It fits your face and you look wonderful.

PS,

I've recommended nose jobs on these sites MANY times—no ->-bleeped-<-ing here!

Thanks Yayo, I guess you are right, atleast it's my natural nose and it's really not too bad either.
Plus for everything that can go wrong with surgical intervention, it's maybe not worth it.
I'm surprised though I just took it you where all natural. You nose totally fits all of your face.

Alas nose jobs. Do you want to look pretty and pass well or look like a movie star. You can obviously pass as a female and pretty one too. However, that movie star look or as some refer as Barbie is a personal  choice, and many could not afford it. Many female  hot lookers movie stars have a nose job.The Asians like a higher profile and narrower nostrils look, more western look. This surgery uses silicone implants and done under local anesthetics. This is a much easier surgery and quite inexpensive. However, reducing the nose size, length and or width, is much more complicated, requiring GA, breaking and chipping bones and minor scar tissue if shortening the nose.  Surgery can easily take over 2 hoursand recovery is uncomfortable. Thus surgery phobia comes into play and possible aniexity with not being able to breathe thru the nose for a day. I would love to have a nose job, ala Barbie and I know its just a matter of time before I build up the courage.

The nose has to suit the face, top surgeons use 3D imaging for patient selection so that your face suits your nose. If you were to go for a brow shave then a nose job to balance it may be necessary. Its purely preference and most are pleased with their results.

Yes, this is the only reason I could possibly see it being done. Are there any other FFS procedures you're intending to get have done, Rachel? Personally, I don't think you need any. You're very pretty and super passable.

Thanks Daisy and WarlockMaker,
No I wouldn't have been considering the other FFS surgeries,  like WarlockMaker said I would definitely be the kind to panic. The description of it makes me shiver.
But yeah I think if I touched my nose I might offset the rest of my face? So maybe it's best not worrying about it

I totally agree.

Your nose may be longer than some. However, it is elegantly thin. That makes all the difference. It is the one non-perfect aspect on your face. That makes if perfect.

Warmly,

Jacqui

I agree, it's not a manly nose. But I understand wanting to change it. Mine had a hump and the doc fixed that with FFS but I also wanted the slight upturn at the end and that didn't quite make it in. The doc is going to fix that this year (2 yrs later) no fees. Should be interesting.

That's what I want for my nose but I broke it when I was young. I want to ask the surgeon if they can give lift my nose tip up so it's not droopy at the end...
