Title: Hello!
Post by: koryo88 on May 09, 2018, 02:06:20 PM
Hi all, I joined recently to look for a community of people who "gets" gender diversity, dysphoria, etc. Even amongst my liberal friends, it's often poorly understood if not outright joked about.

I am AMAB and identify as nonbinary/genderfluid. I am only in recent months embracing my identity and allowing myself to explore it (at 30).

Non-gender-related, I love coffee, traveling, and stand-up paddle boarding.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Edit: I still haven't figured out a gender-neutral name, so please feel free to call me "K," the first letter of my birth name.

Hello K :icon_wave: welcome to the forums!

I was so relieved to find this place where it's normal to talk about all this stuff, I know, even in some circles where you'd think it was more known about and accepted, sometimes it isn't. So the internet can (in places) be a really helpful resource for reaching out to people who get it.

:) I like coffee too. Or... not so much like as completely unable to get through my morning without it hehe. But also, for me, nothing beats a good long conversation with a friend over a nice cuppa. Preferably with biscuits or cake :)

Hi K!

I agree it feels really great to be able to talk with people experiencing the same things you are. As much as others may empathise and truly wish the best for us, there is nothing quite like not having to fully explain what you are feeling and just have another person totally get it. I hope to see you around!
