Hi folks! I'm on HRT for 10 months now. During the first month, I was taking Androcur and Progynova . After that, I switched to Spironolactone then my endo increased my dosage of Progynova. I've been taking the same meds for months and now I have itching all over the body. I though it was due to some food allergy, but I noticed that every time I take my meds I then get extremely itchy in many parts of my body like it is so annoying!
I've read some posts here but most of those who experience itching have just started with their HRT like for a month or weeks, but in my case, I've been in HRT for 10 months and I get this itching just now. Aside from itching, I also get hot flashes and feel sick.
Also, I just started experience this since I moved to my new air-conditioned apartment. Maybe the aircon in my room and at work (which is just a walking distance from my apartment and I am a work and home person) is drying out my skin and then causes the itching??
Do you think it's because of the Spiro? (I've read that Spiro + dehydrated + dry skin = itching). Should I go back to Androcur? Or is it because of Progynova?
Your thoughts would be very precious to me. Thanks in advance!

If you haven't already, mention these things to your doctor.
For the dry skin, try drinking more water.
For the hot flashes and not feeling well, try spacing out your progynova over the day and stick to a consistent schedule.
Welcome to Susan's Place. As above, check with your doctor but there are some additional things to consider. The reduced T can result in dry skin. The treatment might be a moisturizer or just not keeping the air conditioner set so low. Another possible issue is soap left on your skin. If you take a bath, you might want to do a quick rinse under the shower. You could also be exposed to soap from your clothes. Many people use far to much detergent in the wash and it's also possible you might need to run an extra rinse to get the last of the soap out of your clothes.
As for the hot flashes, they are an indication that your hormone levels are low. Discuss this with your doctor but a possible solution is splitting your dosage to twice a day if your taking it all once a day. Hot flashes will eventually stop but it can take a year or two for that to happen.

Itching all over your body may be a sign of an allergic reaction, but this usually starts with the first dose. Try stopping the medication you suspect and if the itching goes away, that is strong evidence for an allergic reaction. Tell your doctor what is happening and have him note this in your medical record. It is important.
If the medication is not the problem, then try hydration by drinking lots of water. Also, try applying a body lotion after your shower or bath.
If you suspect the new apartment, try changing the filters in your heating and cooling system. Does it have a humidifier as well? In the winter months heating systems really dry out the air in your home. Airborne dust usually causes nasal problems such as sneezing or runny nose.
