Title: Black Cohosh Root
Post by: Jayne46240 on May 17, 2018, 02:02:04 PM
A friend who is trying to be more fem without going the HRT route, recently talked about Black Cohosh Root and was curious if it would do subtle changes to his/her body? Anyone have any experience?

Hello Jayne46240    Thank you for your question regarding herbal "HRT"   In very high and dangerous doses that might have a very minimal feminization effect, Black Cohosh is not healthy for the body and has terrible side effects and reacts with so many over the counter and prescription medications that I personally think that it is dangerous.  Nothing can be better or safer ... and usually less expensive than herbals, than real doctor supervised HRT with real homones and legal medication.

I looked fantastic after a couple years on supplements, not the one you're asking about, though. Run it past your doctor, though. Safety first.

A long time ago I did use Black Cohosh for several years.   It did work.  At the doses I had to use to get that effect though it gave me a debilitating migraine headache every single day.  Who knows what other havoc it was wreaking inside my body.

Also, while it did work physically it did nothing for me mentally.  HRT on the other hand fixed my mind and pretty much cured the dysphoria.

I had to get off hormones for a bit because of other issues and it does do a,little something, but not much.  Better to see a doctor and get on a low dose of estradiol.
