Title: Hello World!
Post by: Finally Autumn on May 30, 2018, 03:42:51 PM
Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for all the great info and resources. I have perused the forums for a while and really appreciate everyones input. It has been super helpful on my journey.

Today marks a milestone for me. I saw my doctor this morning and I am picking up my prescriptions on the way home from work to start HRT. I am so excited to start this chapter of my life. There is still a really long way to go so I look forward to learning more. I would be lieing to say I wasnt nervous though. My long time GF is supportive but that fluctuates and she is still in the process of mourning as it was only recent that I came out to her. I am bringing her along to see my therapist next week so I hope that helps her a bit.

Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself and hope to get to know more people here

Thanks,
Autumn

Hi Autumn,
Welcome and congratulations on getting started with HRT. My name is Moni and I am very glad you are here. It is a bit of a shock for most SO's but patience and understanding  her feelings can be a big help. Please don't be afraid to express yourself on here. You can help others and help yourself as well. See you around!  :)

Autumn...When I came out it was like the world was being lifted off my shoulders. When I started HRt it was an answer to half century old prayers. Now that I am two years down the road, coming out has given me opportunities to find others like me, make new acquaintances that have the same day to day delemna's as I do. I hope clarity comes to you as it has come to me. Pride festivals are coming later this month and next,  give a great opportunity to show our detractors that we too are  human beings, with feelings, aspirations, dreams, and rights. In the case of Tacoma 2017, that brought out 17,000 attendees. The road is not paved by rose petals but at least we are making progress in finding allies in the community at large. Good wishes on continuing your dreams and welcome to Susan's Place. I think taking your girlfriend with you to the therapist is a good idea. If you have any trouble finding resources send me a PM and perhaps I can help as I am the inks administrator and we are still in the process of creating the best resource for transgender information on the internet.
